LONDON (JTA)—The British government will not be diverted
by acts of violence in search for just and final solution of the Pal-
estine problem," Prime Minister Attlee told Parliament in a report
on the King David Hotel bombing where the secretariat and military
headquarters were housed. -
Mr. Attlee added that "of all the horrible outrages in Palestine
during the last few months this is the worst. He announced that
High Commissioner Cunningham, who on Monday conferred twice
with the British Cabinet on anti-terrorist measures, had left for
Jerusalem.
Outlining the immediate British policy, Mr. Attlee said that his
government momentarily is in consultation with the U. S. with the
view of arriving at proposals for a just settlement of the Palestine
problem. He stated that the proposals will be presented for con-
sideration by representatives of the Jews and Arabs.

Jews Throughout Palestine Condemn Bombing
JERUSALEM (JTA)—Jews throughout Palestine expressed
strongest condemnation of Monday's destruction here which was
accompanied by great loss of life to Britons, Jews and Arabs. The
Rabbinate. led by Chief Rabbi Ben Zion Uziel, the Histadruth and
the entire Hebrew press expressed their sense of horror.
An extraordinary meeting of the Tel Aviv municipality expressed
its abhorrence of the bombing and declares: "The criminal attack
stains the perverts' pure aim of establishing the Homeland in
Palestine."
Mayor Israel Rokach of Tel Aviv appealed to all places of en-
tertainment to halt dancing and to stop the music as a symbol of
mourning for the dead. His plea was heeded immediately.

Lieberman of the Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary has departed for
Palestine to work out a plan for
,he exchange of students and in-
stru—ors between the Seminary
and the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem, Dr. Louis Finkelstein,
president of the Seminary, has an-
nounced. Prof. Lieberman also
will contact other Palestine schools
for similar purposes.

ing pornographic anti-Semitism
reminiscent of Julius Streicher's
"Der Stuermer," is scheduled to
_appear on New York City news-
stands late in August after un-
successful attempts to peddle it
in Rochester and other upstate
communities.
Anti-Red's editor is "Jack Dins-
more" pseudonym for David Gor-
don, a Jew converted to Catholic-
ism, who published a number of
short-lived anti-Semitic maga-
zines. including the "Catholic In-
ternational", "Top Kick," a comic
book designed to stir Jew hatred
among American servicemen. and
"Hot Dog," which was suppressed

as obscene.

announced. The money will be

American zone of Germany.
More than 370 of the refugees
embarked at Bremen, while a
group of 272 refugees, including 17
orphans from Belgium, was picked
up when the vessel stopped at Le
Havre. T ,n refugees were met by
their families, friends, and repre-
sentatives of the Joint Distribu-
tion Committee, which advanced
or paid passage for 442 of the im-
migrants; the HIAS, which also
paid the expenses of many 'of the
passengers; and the National Ref-
ugee Service.

- BERLIN (JTA)—The first Jew-
ish movie seen in post-war Berlin
is now being shown to displaced
Jews and Jewish residents of Ber-
lin at a German theater near the
Duppel DP camp.
The film, "Two Sisters," is one
of six produced in the U. S. and
distributed throughout the Ameri-
can zone by the Joint Distribution
Committee.

JERUSALEM (Palcor)—An ap-
peal signed by 2,000 writers, art-
ists and musicians for the release
of singer Hilda Dulitzkaya, arrest-
ed during the week of June 29,
for singing a song considered sa-
tirical of the government, in a
Haifa night club, has been handed
to authorities here. The appeal
asserts that the singer's arrest was
a grave blow to the freedom of
speech and of art.
