Rovetch Gets Probzts Club Check

Center Open air concerts on Mon-
day evening.
The chorus, organized four years
ago. has made many local appear
ances and shared programs with
such artists as Paul Robeson and
Earl Robinson. A few weeks ago
they appeared at the Masonic
Temple and at the Olympia for
Detroit's Golden Jubilee Celebra-
tion. The chorus is scheduled for
a concert tour to the west coast
for the coming fall.
Florence Morton and John An-
drews will be soloists.
Assisting artist in the concert
will be the well-known Detroit cel-
list, Jacob Becker, member of the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Betty Kowalsky will assist at the
piano.

sity, left Detroit Sunday as De-
troit's representative to the first
International Student Conference
to be held In Prague, Czecho-
slovakia.
Rovetch completed his financial
arrangements for the trip when
Probus Club, a group of Jewish
professional and business men,
pledged to make up the balance
of the $1,000 necessary for the
three-month trip.
The check was presented to him
at a luncheon in his honor by
Julian A. Grace, publicity direc-
tor of Probus Club, and John
Wise, traffic court referee.

Summer Membership
Deadline Set for July 31
July 31 is the deadline for three
month summer memberships ef-
fective the date of registration,
and convertible at a saving into
a year round membership. Full
privileges apply to summer meth
berships, including summer out-
door concerts, movies, dances,
splash parties, discussions, gym.
games room and community fun-

tional student groups who will
constitute the U. S. delegation to
the conference. On July 15, they
sailed for London.
A "B" average student, Rovetch
was chosen one of 10 represent-
atives from 400 colleges because
of his wide range of student ac-
tivities.
He was student manager of
Wayne University's basketball and
baseball teams, staff writer on
the student publication, member
of the student council, executive
secretary of Wayne University
chapter of the U. S. Student As-
sembly and Midwest represent-
ative of the assembly.

attending the Center's home camp,
Camp Habonim, use the pool only
under strict supervision five aft-

Intermediate boys and girls
swim four afternoons, Monday
through Thursday. The girls'
hours are 3:30 to 4:15 p. m. and
the boys', 4:15 to 5 p. m. In
addition, a social swim for inter-
mediate boys and girls is held
Tuesdays at 7:30 p. m. For mem-
bers, sub-seniors through health
clubs, a wide range of swimming

Outdoor Dancing Program
An outdoor dance for young
adults will be held Saturday, July
13, with music by Max Gall orch-
