Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Segar of Birchcrest Dr. and Henry Sills
of Burlingame Ave. left by motor to spend a fortnight in Moonbeach,
Wisconsin.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Klein of Chicago Blvd. returned in Thurs-
day from a few days' stay in Mackinac Island.
Mr.. and Mrs. Maier Finsterwald of Parkside Ave. are spending
a few weeks at Lame Louise and Banff in the Canadian Rockies.
Mrs. Marvin 0. Lorange of Cleveland is the guest of her brother-
in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. William Fleischman of Whitmore
Rd. Mrs. Fleischman recently returned from a visit in Winettka,
Mrs. Caroline Faught of New York is spending 10 days with her
mother, Mrs. David J. Epston of Longwood Ave.
Mrs. Leon Netzorg of the Belcrest Hotel left on Wednesday to
spend a week as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank V. Martin at Bay-
field, Ont.
Spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Levin of
Strathcona Dr. is Mrs. Levin's daughter, Janet Laib, who is spending
the remainder of the summer in New York.
Mrs. Bayre Levin, her daughter, Jane, and son, Michael, of Edison
Ave. are spending the summer in Provincetown, R. I. Mr. Levin
is planning to join them in a few weeks. - Their son Peter is at
Camp Tamakwa, Ont.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Katz and daughters, Janet and 3arbara,
of Burlingame Ave. are spending a few weeks in Lincoln, Neb., as
the guests of Mrs. Katz' mother, Mrs. E. M. Guggenheim, and in
Yancton, S. D., with Mr. Katz' mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Epstein of Canterbury Rd. have returned
from Ashville, N C. and Anniston, Ala., where they visited their
son, Cpl. Thomas L. Epstein, who is stationed at Camp McClellan.
Mrs. Milton Doner and daughter, Jill, of Renfrew Rd. are spend-
ing a few weeks in Oscoda, Mich. Mr.. Doner spent the 4th of July
week-end with them. -
Miss Marie Newman of the Belcrest Hotel is spending 10 days
in New York.
Miss Sally Brown of Lucerne Dr. has returned from Milwaukee
where she was maid of honor at the wedding of Mary 1Freshel and
William E. Glassner, last Saturday evening.
Miss Mildred Goldman of Glynn Ct. left on Sunday to spend
the summer in the East.
Mrs. Samuel Hartman and sons, Donald and Arthur, left by
motor to spend a few weeks. in Yellowstone Park.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ehrlich of Boston Blvd. are spending three
weeks in Greenbush, Mich.
Mrs. Isadore Gallow and daughter, Selma, of Calvert Ave. have
returned from a cruise to Duluth.
Mrs. Lawrence Kert and her three children of Toronto are
spending the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Meret-
sky of Windsor. -
Mrs.' Norman Helpert of Elmhurst Ave. has returned from a
10-day stay in Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rose of the Belcrest Hotel are visiting
in Boston, Cape Cod and other towns in New England. .
Joan Field, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Field of Roslyn
Rd., is attending a special summer session at Cornell University.
Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Klein of Cleveland were 'guests at the
Statler Hotel for a few days _last week while visiting with relatives
and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Gordon, their daughter, Judy, and son,
Harry, of -Parkside Ave. have returned from a visit in Ne`w York.
Mrs. A. J. Copeland of Parkside Ave. spent a few days as the
guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Diamond at their summer home in
Canada. -
Mrs. David Hershman, her small daughter, Susan, and her
mother, Mrs. Hyman Miller of Calvert Ave., left on Sunday to spend
a few weeks in South Haven.
Miss Florence Thal of Chicago spent the 4th of July week-end
as the guest of her cousin, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Marks of Broad-
street Blvd.
William H. Kaplan of Los Angeles has be'En visiting with rel-
atives and friends in Detroit.
Capt. Woodrow W. Weiss, who has been in service for the last
three years, including one year in the ETO, is now on terminal
leave. He is spending the summer at Camp Tamakwa, Ont., where
he is the 'medical director.
Mrs, EdwaV Weiss of Buena Vista Ave. is visiting with rela-
tives and fridiads in Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. Charlotte Redfield of Piccadilly Rd. has as her guest Miss
Jean Abelson of Syracuse, N. Y.
Mrs. Samuel .Preston and her daughters, Barbara and Judy,
of Monterey Ave. left on Tuesday to spend the summer in New
York and Strassburg,, Pa., where they will be the guests of Mrs.
Preston's father, Max Alpert.

Maintenance of homes for un-
attached women in Europe as
part of an expanded overseas
service program has been an-
nounced by Mrs. Joseph M. Welt
of Detroit, president of the Na-
tional Council of Jewish -Women.

The announcement was timed
to mark the departure of Miss
Celia Bloom, new director of the
Council's home in Athens for un-
attached women, for Brussels on
her way to Greece.

Family Adopted in Italy
By Detroit Bodzin Club

Bodzin Family Club, at a meet-
ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
J. Samuel Bodzin, made plans, at
the invitation of Bnai Brith Eu-
ropean kid, to adopt a family re-
siding in Rome, Italy.
Letters and packages will lie
sent regularly to the -family by
the Bodzins.
After the meeting, a farewell
party was given in honor of Jack
J. Bodzin who left for Houghton,
Mich., to enter Michigan College
of Mining and Technology.

A Menorah hammered out of
cartridge scraps and shell casings
by Jews in the Landsberg dis-
placed persons center in Germany
has been presented by Gen. Joseph
T. McNarney, commander of
American forces in Europe, to
the Museum of the Jewish Theo-
logical Seminary, New York.
The ceremonial mine-armed can-
dlestick, 13 inches high and 10
inches broad, with the character -
istic burnished colors of copper
and brass, was given to Gen. Mc-
Narney by the Jewish DPs as a
symbol of gratitude ,for their lib-
eration by the armed forces of the
United States.

of orange-blossoms. She carried
a Bible covered with white or-
chids.

Deitch, , and bridesmaids were:
Betty Weinstein, Tillie Sherman,
Bessie Tyner, Lois Weinstein,
Pearl Bello and Edith Deitch.
They c -ried purple orchids.
The bridegroom'S brother, Sam-
uel Deitch, was best man. Ushers
were: Joseph-Deitch, Abe Wein-
stein, Irving Tyner, Hy Sherman,
Jules Bello and Herbert Deitch
of New York.

stein were flower girls and car-
ried .colonial bouquets. • The cere-
mony was conducted by Rabbi
Harold Rosenthal.
