ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY
Mary Lou Simons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Simons
of Parkside Ave., and LaMe Ginn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mar-
cus Ginn of Birchcrest Dr., are among the campers at Camp
Winona, Naples, Me.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin D. Lieberman of Chicago Blvd. are
spending a week in Omena, Mich.
Dr. and Mrs. Simon Farbman of Chesterfield Ave. have left
for Lexington, Mich., whtre they plan to spend six weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Rose of Fairfield Ave. and Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Hibler of Buena Vista Ave. are spending 10 days at the
Snows in Georgian Bay.
Mrs. David Racoosin of Roselawn Ave. is spending six weeks
with her husband in the East. Their daughter, Mira Lou, is
spending the summer at the Merril Palmer Camp.
Joyce Janeway, who attends Vassar College in Poughkeepsie,
N. Y., is spending the summer vacation with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Janeway of Canterbury Rd. She had as her guest
for a few days, this week, Miss Jean Lande of Seattle, Wash.
Dr. and Mrs. Jack Art of Cortland Ave. have returned from
a visit in Mexico City and Acapulca, Mexico, and in Shreveport,
La., where they visited their son.
GM 3/c Robert M. Kuttnauer, who has been in the-U. S. Navy
for two years, including 16 months in the Pacific area, has re-
ceived his discharge and is now at home with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. DeRoy Kuttnauer of Fairfield Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Katkin of Balmoral Rd. have returned
from a visit in Rock Island, Miss.
Mr. and Mrs. William London of Parkside Ave. are spending
a week in Omena, Mich.
Mrs. William Mazer and her small daughter, Margaret of
Birchcrest Dr. are spending 10 days in Columbus, 0., as the guests
of Mrs. Mazer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lurie. Mr. Mazer
accompanied them for a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Katz- of Suffolk Dr. have returned from a
month's stay in Hot Springs, Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Asherson of Sturtevant Ave. were hosts
to a group of their friends at a buffet supper last Sunday on the
occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Joseph Barken of Miami Beach, Fla., is spending the
summer in Detroit, and is a guest at the Lee Plaza Hotel. Her
daughter, Jean, is expected to join her next week.
Dr. and Mrs. Shayel Scheinberg (Fern Schlafer) of Chicago
Blvd. have left for Tomahawk, Wis., where Dr. Scheinberg will be
the Medical Director at Camp Strongheart. On Sept. 1, he will
assume his duties as resident surgeon at Michael Reese Hospital
in Chicago, and with Mrs. Scheinberg will make his home at
3520 Lake Shore Dr.
Complimenting Miss Molly Mutnick of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs.
Nathan Fishman of Sherbourne Rd. gave a beautifully appointed
luncheon on June 27 at the Knollwood Country Club. Miss Mut-
nick, who is engaged to Marshall- Greenberg, is the guest of her
fiance and his mother, Mrs. Ida Greenberg of Boston 'Blvd.

Torahs have been distributed by
the Joint Distribution Committee
to Jewish communities in France
whose synagogues were destroyed
by the Germans, at a ceremony
at the Rothschild Synagogue in
Paris. Many of the scrolls were
donated by the Mizrachi organi-
zation in America.
