Under a great bell of white
flowers, Carolyn Jeanne David-
son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Louis Davidson of Canterbury
Drive, Palmer Woods, and Mar-
vin George Alexander, son of Mr.
and Mrs. I. W. Kohn of Shaker
Heights, CleVeland, were united
in marriage, Sunday evening, at
Hotel Book-Cadillae.
The Crystal Ballroom of the
hotel 1=.-as transformed into a ver-
itable flower garden for the odca-
sionflowering 'trees" being used
as aisle Markers and against the
walls-, while great screens of
greenery and white pillars topped
by glowing torchieres flanked the
altar.
Can-delight Ceremony
The ceremony, performed by
candlelight, was held at 6 o'clock
with Rabbi Morris Adler and
Rabbi A. M..Herahman officiating.
The bride wore a Jay Thorpe
original of white illusion made
with cream-puff sleeves and a fit-
ted bodice of white satin scal-
loped in pearls.- A panel of the
pearl-edged satin extended to the
hemline in front and another
formed the long train.
Her Mary Tudor headdress was
also scalloped in pearls and from
it fell the 1 -,g veil of illusion.
Treasured Keepsake
Her flowers were white orch-
ids, larkspur and rubrum lilies
and they topped the Bible which
her brother, Gerald, carried
throughout the siege of Iwo Jima
and which, now satin-covered, is
a treasured keepsake of the Dav-
idson family.
Mrs. Robert I. Kohn of Cleve-
land was matron-of-honor and
Mrs. Gorge Nederlander, Mrs.
Benjamin H. Frank and Miss Bar-
bara Enggass of Detroit and Mrs.
George A. Frehling of Louisville,
Ky.. were bridesmaids:
They -wore quaint frocks of
white dotted Swiss made with
Eramley collars and hooped
skirts • and their heads were en-
circled by wreaths of ivy.
They carried cascades of Ameri-
can Beauties with more of the
trailing green vine.
Mrs. Davidson's Gown
For - her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Davidson chose a floor-
length gown of Chinese turquoise
crepe . with inserts of matching
lace. Her flowers were yellow
orchids
Mrs. Kohn wore a dinner dress
of blue print on a cool white
background with spray orchids at
the shoulder.
Robert I. Kohn of Cleveland
was best man and Harry Horvitz,
Robert Unger and George Cam-
pen of Cleveland, and Gerald J.
Davidson, brother of the bride,
seated the guests.
Following the ceremony, the
receiving line formed in the Nor-
mandie Room from where guests
adjourned to the Italian Gardens
to linger over canapes and cock-
to iis before proceeding to the
Goznd Ballroom for dinner.

Tables for 350 Guests
The bride's table at the dinner,
centered by arrangements of
white flowers and banked at the
front with greenery, was on a
raised platform and tables for
the 350 guests circled the big

room.

Dancing followed, during which
the young couple left on their
wedding trip- to the Hotel Mt.
Washington in Bretton Woods;
N. H.; the bride wearing. -for trav-
eling a ivhite . flannel suit - with
brown accessori
es and her white
bridal orchids.
- Later in the Summer, the
young Alexanders will return to
Detroit to make it their home.

Engagements

Mr. and Mrs._Benjamin Hass of
21515 Curtis, announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Marilyn, to Murray L. Singer, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Singer
of Lee Place. The bridgegroom
elect was recently discharged from
the United States Army.. The
bride-elect attended Wayne Uni-
versity. Plans are being made for
a late fall wedding.

DAYTON, 0., (JTA)—A reso-
lution calling for the raising of
settle 400 families • at a cost of
funds to buy land in Palestine to
$500 each was adopted here at
the closing session of the seventh
annual convention of the -Ohio
Valley Zionist Region.

DAVIDSON - SENDLER: The
marriage of Miss Freda Joy Send-
ler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Israel Sendler, of Flint, and Sid-
ney Davidson, son . of Mr. and
Mrs. Mendel Davidson, of Flint,
was performed at 2 p. m. Sunday,
June 23, at the Jewish Commun-
ity Center in Flint. Rabbi Jacob
Hurwitz performed the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, Israel Sendler, the bride wore
white satin styled with a sweet-
heart neckline trimmed with seed
pearls. The bodice was long and
fitted, and the full skirt ended in
a long flowing train. A Mary Stu-
art cap held her long veil with
a fingertip veil overlapping. She
carried a white Bible topped with
a white orchid and stephanotis.
Reva Sendler was maid of hon-
or for his sister. She wore peach
net over satin with a .blue satin
tiara, and carried peach gladioli
and tea roses.
Mrs. Bernard Beaman, of De-
troit, cousin of the bride, was
matron of honor wearing taffeta
and a matching flowered band-
eau, carrying pink gladioli and
roses.
Bridesmaids Reva Hertz and
Delores Davidson, sister of the
bridegroom, wore aqua net and
blue taffeta.
Randa Sorcher, cousin of the
bridegroom was flower girl.
David Davidson, brother of the
bridegroom was best man. Seat-
ing the guests were Morton Leit-
son, Dr. Samuel Sorcher and Sim-
son Sendler, brother of the bride.
A reception was held after the
service, and a dinner was served
at the Milner Hotel for 150 guests
from Kalamazoo, Chicago, Mt.
Clemens, Detroit, Muncie, Cleve-
land, Phoenix and Los Angeles.
When the couple left for their
trip to- Northern Michigan, the
bride wore a - pink suit with
matching accessories. They will
reside in Ann Arbor where Mr.
Davidson :s on the faculty of the
University of Michigan.
Both are • graduates of Flint
Northern high -school, and the
University of Michigan. Mr. Dav-
idson is a member of Beta Gam-
ma Sigma, honorary scholastic
society. He served as a lieutenant
in the Navy.

The bride was dressed in a
gown of pure white' nylon taffeta.
The long tightly fitted sleeves ex-
tended in frills of chantilly lace.
She carried a Bible and white
orchid.
After the ceremony dinner was
served in the social hall for 200
guests and a reception followed.
The newlyweds began their
honeymoon with a week's stay at
the Drake in Chicago and then
left on a week's boat cruise to
Duluth.

LANDY-RUBIN—The marriage
of Miss Dorothy Rubin, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rubin of
Glendale ave., and Zalman Landy,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Landy
of Fullerton ave., was solemnized
