Mrs. Bertha Adelman ran onto

radio that Japan had surrendered
and excitedly asked her neighbor

The woman said, "Yes, isn'tit
wonderful?" . .. Then, looking
at her quizzically, she asked Mrs.
Adelman how she knew so soon
