The program was concluded by

Refugee Doctor Finds
A Cure for Hay Fever

Nit-Gediget Group
Honors Sol Golub

NEW YORK, ( J T A ) — The
development by Dr. W. S. Loewe,
German Jewish refugee doctor, of
a new drug which provides effec-
tive relief and a possible -cure for
hay fever, was revealed here.
An article in the current Bul-
letin of the New York Academy
of Medicine said that Dr. Loewe,
teaching at the University of
Utah, spent 25 years experiment-
ing and developing anthallan, the
new drug.
Anthallan has been used exper-
imentally for two years, and in
some cases the patients have had
no recurrence of hay fever during
that. period. In general the drug
has been 75 percent effective
among the patients who were
used in experiments conducted
by several doctors from the Van-
derbilt Clinic here.
The drug, which is taken in
six daily pill doses for a period
of three weeks, attacks the cause
of the ailment rather than the
symptom.
