Juniors Celebrate
Campaign Victory
With Ball Tuesday

15 Visaless Immigrants
Seized on Syrian Border

The victory ball of the Junior
Division, Allied Jewish Cam-
paign, will be held Tuesday eve-
ning, May 28, in the Fountain
ball room of the Masonic Temple.
Dancing will begin at 9 p.m. to
music by Phil Brestoff's WXYZ
orchestra.
The event is being planned as
a climax to the Junior Service
Group's achievement of its ob-
jective in the campaign.
Tickets are available to work-
ers from their captains. Others
may obtain them at the door.

TEL AVIV. (JTA)—The Arab
press reports that 15 visaless
Jewish immigrants were arrest-
ed on the Syrian border as they
attempted to slip into Palestine.
Twenty Tripolitanian Jews
who have been in possession of
Palestine immigration certificates
for more than a year are unable
to come here because the Egyp-
tian government refuses to grant
them transit visas. A new settle-
ment for Jewish veterans and
their families was established
near the village of Tel Mond, 22
miles from Tel Aviv'.

Arian to Give Address at
Center Workers Conclave
Harold Arian, assistant direc-
tor of the Center, will present a
paper before the personnel prac-
tices .committee at the sessions of
the National Association of Jew-
ish Center Workers in Atlantic
City, May 26-29, on the subject
"Good Salary Standards are
Crucial."
Other members of the Center
staff also will be at the confer-
ence.
