nial convention here.
The 200 delegates from 47
chapters in the U. S. and Can-
ada, representing 16,000 members,
resolved to raise $500,000 and
"adopt" 2,000 European Jewish
orphans for vocational training
during 1946-47. .
Funds will go to the 66-year-
old world program of ORT—Or-
ganization f o r Rehabilitation
through Training — to instruct
Jews overseas in industrial trades
or farming in ORT schools in Eu-
rope, North Africa, South Amer :
ica and Shanghai.
Mrs. Maurice Finkelstein of

goal was voted as a result of

tary of State, addressing the
convention, praised the ORT for
its accomplishments in aiding the
rehabilitation of the Jews of Eu-
rope. He declared that the ORT
approached the problem of aiding
human beings with "deep un-
derstanding." --

dent of the World ORT - Union,
reported that 15,500 persons are
receiving training in the ORT
