cently was discharged from the
army after serving three and a

port Command.

Vice-president of
Social Agency Council Plans are under way for the

Mrs. Hyman C. Broder has been
chosen as one of the new vice-
presidents of the Council of Social
Agencies of Metropolitan Detroit.
Robert M. Freshe, director of
religious education for the West-
minster Presbyterian church, is
the new president.
Mrs. Broder, in addition to be-
ing active on the board of the
Council of Social Agencies, is
treasurer of the Detroit League
for the Handicapped, member of
the board of the Jewish Welfare
Federation and member of the
executive committee of the
Women's Committee of the De-
troit Community Fund. She has
been active in War Chest and
Community Fund Drives, served
as chairman of the West Side Di-
vision of the Metropolitan War
Chest Unit in 1944, and is an
active leader in the 1946 Allied
Jewish Campaign Women's Di-
vision.
She is active in the Jewish
Community Center and in Hadas-
sah, and is a former president of
the Detroit Chapter of Hadassah.

Mr. and Mrs. S. Bernstein, of

dred Siegel, to Joseph Fealk, son
of Mrs. Fanny Fealk of Kentucky

LONDON, (JTA)—Ismail Sid-
ky Pasha, Egyptian premier, was
quoted by the Cairo radio as of-
fering an invitation to the ex-
Mufti of Jerusalem to settle in
Egypt. "I, as Egyptian premier,
welcome his Eminence, should he
wish to stay in Egypt," Sidky
Pasha said. "He is one of the
best men of Palestine."
