Plight of European Survivors
Challenge to Allied Campaign
Give H
im Hope Through $2,0
The pleading eyes and the cold stove are symbols of the
tragedy of the surviving Jews of Europe, challenging the
generosity of the Jews of America.
This cold and cheerless environment is the home of this
youngster.
Such are the homes of the 150,000 surviving Jewish children
in Europe. They are—nearly all of them—orphans who
have seen their dear ones murdered.
They and their elders—only 1,250,000 of the pre-war
European population of more than 7,000,000—look to us,
the Jews of America, for the relief that must come to them
if they are to survive the miseries inherited from Hitler..
ism and war.

Only the United Jewish Appeal, through its agencies—the
Joint Distribution Committee, the United Palestine Appeal
and the National Refugee Service—can alleviate their
plight.
Only the Allied Jewish Campaign of Detroit, with funds
to be raised in the 1946 emergency $2,000,000 drive, can
help them.
Be generous—so that the fright in their eyes may be re-
placed by hope and so that we may put an end to their
homelessness.
Give them hope — through out Allied Jewish Campaign
starting on May 7.
