To Give Play at Center

Mothers Day, at Moss Catering,
reported on plans. Mrs. Hecker
announced plans for a Hebrew
and Sunday School. There will
be Passover services at Beth
Aaron and Sabbath services. A
joint meeting was held Wednes-
day of Beth Aaron's Men's Club
and Beth Aaron Sisterhood.

meet Monday, April 29, at the
home of Mrs. Maurice Garelik,

Newman, program chairman, will
present Tony Weitzel, Detroit
News Columnist, as guest speak-

served at 12:30. Mrs. Peter A.
Miller, president, extends an in-

pointed Mrs. Harry Horwitz, as
chairman of the 'mixed card party
to be held April 24 at Cong. Bnai
Moshe. Proceeds will be used for
the USO and for hospital parties

Mrs. Sophie Sislin, chairman of
the Child Rescue Fund commit-
tee for Club 1 of the PIONEER
WOMEN'S ORGANIZATION, re-
ceived a contribution of $480 from
the Muncie, Ind., Jewish Welfare
Fund, for the upkeep of two refu-
gee children in Palestine. Harry
Zeigler announces that a check
for $500 has been sent to the His-
tadrut campaign office in New
York. The Child Rescue commit-
tee also received the following
contributions: Mrs. Rosen, $260;
Miss Evelyn Grant, $360, and Mrs.
Silverman, $240, solicited by Mrs.
D. Roven. A total of $8,000 has
been received so far.

152 PYTHIAN SISTERS will cel-
ebrate their 19th anniversary on
April 24. Dinner will be served at

props.
The spring project of Neugar-
ten Medical Aid, an evening of
games, will be held at the Book
Cadillac Hotel on Tuesday eve-
ning, May 7. Mrs. Roy Rotter is
chairman. The prize committee
is headed by Mrs. Morton Grass.

At the House of Books

Among the collections of fine
editions at the House of Books,
8210 Second, are the following:
The Haselwood Edition of Tales
of Brothers Grimm and Tales
from Hans Andersen, both illus-
trated by Hester Sainsbury and
published in London. This fine set
is one of a limited edition.
A Fairy Garland, being Fairy
Tales from the Old French. This
lovely collection is illustrated by
Edmund Dulac and is one of a
limited edition signed by the Ar-
tist.
Fairy Tales by Hans Andersen
and illustrated by Kay Nielsen.
This book is beautifully executed,
published in London and one of a
limited edition signed by Kay
Nielsen.
Fairy Tales by Brothers Grimm,
illustrated with wood-cuts by
Fritz Kredel. This edition was is-
sued for the members of the Lim-
ited Editions Club and is signed
by Rudolph Koch, the designer,
and Fritz Kredel, the illustrator.

Temple Israel Youth Head
A large turnout attending the
first election party of the newly-
reorganized Youth Group of
Temple Israel elected Natalie
Gaines as president. Other of-

Final Program With
Jewish Folk Danes

Woman's Auxiliary of t h e
United Hebrew Schools is mak-
ing preparations for the fourth
and final program in the series
of cultural programs for the cur-
rent year to be held in May. The
Auxiliary has dispensed with its
annual donor affair, and has sub-
stituted this series of cultural
programs.
The feature of the May pro-
gram will be Jewish folk dances
in many lands. Lessons in folk
dancing are being given those
women who wish to participate
in this affair. Members of the
auxiliary who are interested in
attending these classes may do
so by calling the president, Mrs.
A. L. Carnick, UN. 2-4360, or pro-
gram chairman, Mrs. Florence
Rosman, UN. 1-4637. Miss San-
ford of Wayne University is the
