erans at Dearborn Hospital April
4. Gifts were distributed. Enter-
tainment was furnished by the

JEWISH WOMEN'S EURO-
PEAN WELFARE ORGANIZA-
TION, at a meeting held at the
Bnai Moshe Synagogue last Mon-
day, decided to give a steam-
ship ticket to bring a refugee
orphan from Holland to Detroit.
A board meeting will be held
April 18 at the home of Mrs. R.

HEBREW LADIES AID SO-
CIETY will hold a food shower
at 1:30 p. m. April 24 in the
Bnai Moshe library. The public
is invited, the admission being
a package of canned food. Mrs.
Sarah Schwartz is chairman of
the SOS committee. Refresh-
ments will be served. A board
meeting was held at the home of
Mrs. Eleanor Ehremvald Wednes-
day. The annual Red Cross party
will be held May 15 in the Bnai
Moshe auditorium. Mesdames
Elfreda Greenwald is chairman,

VICE CLUB has resumed meet-
ings at Zak's. A donation was
made to the Matzo fund for Eu-
rope's needy. Edith Davis, en-

that plans are being made for
the Mothers-Daughters affair on
May 22.

FANTS SERVICE GROUP held
April 1, it was decided to con-
tribute a substantial amount to
the American Red Cross and the
Allied Jewish campaign. Plans
are being made for a party to be
held sometime in May for mem-
bers and their husbands.

LADIES AUXILIARY OF YE-
SHIVATH CHACHMEY LUBLIN
will have its fourteenth annual
donor luncheon on Tuesday, May
28, in the Bnai Moshe auditorium,
Dexter and Lawrence. A journal
will be published commemorating
the event. The Auxiliary is main-
taining the cafeteria of the Ye-
shivath. Mrs. I. Levine and Mrs.
Weinberg are co-chairman of the

NEUGARTEN MEDICAL AID
will honor new members with a
dramatic presentation at its mem-
ber-bring-a-member meeting on
April 29 at the Jewish Center.
The dramatic group, under the
direction of Mrs. Philip Kravetz
and Mrs. Irving Gordon, will pre-
sent a one—act comedy appropri-
ate for clubwomen. The cast in-
cludes Mesdames Charles Roth-
stein, Morton Yarrows, Julius
Stross, Morton Jacobs, Norman
Noble, Irving Yarrows and Albert
Schwitzer. Mrs. Albert Weiss is
in charge of props. Members and
friends are welcome. Neugarten
Medical Aid thanks members who
contributed to the S. 0. S. cam-
paign.
Bar Mitzvahs
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Flusty .an-
nounce the Bar Mitzvah of their
son, Ned Edwin, to be observed
at the Downtown Synagogue,

rence, April 18 at 8 p. m., to form
an auxiliary to the Gen. Maurice.

Any mother, wife, sister or
daughter of any veteran serving
in any mrar of the U. S. is eligible
to join.
Mrs. B. R. Kristal of Streator,
Ill., announces the ,engagement of
her daughter, Annette Rosylyn,
to William Lipman, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Theodore Lipman of
2976 Calvert. The wedding will
take place July 7 in Chicago.
Britain, U. S. to Enforce
Recommendations for
Zion, Cunningham Says
JERUSALEM (JTA)—The gov-
ernments of Britain and of the
U. S..will enforce the recommen-
dations of the Anglo-American
inquiry committee, no matter
what they may be,.High Commis-
sioner Sir Alan Cunningham told
a group of Arabs in Jaffa. "Pal-
estine is at the parting of the
ways," he said.
Earlier he received Chief Rabbi
Herzog, who recently returned to
Palestine . after a visit to the de-
tention camps in Eritrea for Jews
exiled from Palestine. The high
commissioner displayed interest
in Dr. Herzog's report on the
Jewish deportees.

SOFIA (JTA)—A decree per-
mitting the transport of all Joint
Distribution Committee relief
shipments for Bulgarian Jews
from the Bulgarian border to
Sofia free of all taxes, customs
and freight charges was passed
in the National Assembly.
