Elson Legion Post
Seeking Members
The third meeting of the newly
formed Calvin-Stanley Elson Post
of the American Legion took place
at the Veteran's Building April 3.
The Post was dedicated in mem-
ory. of Calvin and Stanley Elson
who were killed overseas.
Members of the post average

Their former rank ranges in the
Army from private to captain and
in the Navy from seaman first-
class to lieutenant (s.g.). The
charter members have been dec-
orated with Silver Stars, Air Med-
al, Bronze Star, Purple Hearts,
the American Defense Ribbon and
all three Theater Riblions, aver-
aging three Major Battle Stars per
man plus Philippine Liberation
Ribbons and the Presidential and
Unit Citations.
Newly elected officers are' Al-
len B. Schmier, commander; Har-
old S. Norman and Fred Pollak,
vice-commanders; adjutant, Er-
win R. Lachman; - finance officer,
Allen Stiglitz; sergeant-at-arms,
Abe Cahn; historian, Bernard
Lipson.

HIAS Opens Polish Offices
Offices of the Hebrew Shelter-
ing. and Immigrant Aid Society
(HIAS) have been opened in
Warsaw, Lodz and Cracow, Po-
land. Large groups of Jews who
wish to emigrate are seeking
their help, according to a cable
received at the New York HIAS
from Dr. Henry Shoskes, over-
seas representative of HIAS.
