Greenbaum 4, Photo Courtesy Detroit Times Recognizing h i s outstanding work in connection with the Army Ordnance, the Legion of Merit was presented to Lt.-Col. Ervin Greenbaum, 2043 Glynn Ct., at a ceremony held Thurs- day afternoon in the National Bank Bldg. The award was made by Col. Quinton Adams, chief of the Detroit ordnance district, and the citation which accompanied the honor referred in high terms to the outstanding work Col. Greenbaum had done during the last three years in charge of con- tract termination activities. From 1943 to 1946 Col. Green- baum s e r v e d as officers in charge of settlement of 4,166 terminated war contracts involv- ing $4,380,000,000 in ordnance personnel, and developed estab- lished and supervised procedures for settlement of termination claims. In 1945 he was promoted to his present rank. Previously, for a year, he served in armour plate conversion program, deal- ing with automobile spring and bumper manufacturing concerns. After five and a half years' service, Col. Greenbaum was separated from the army March 5, and now is a member of the Ordnance Department Reserve. He is married to the former Doris Lipson, and they have three children, Alice, Marianne and Ruth. He is an engineering grad- uate of the U. of M., and the United Hebrew Schools, and is a member of Shaarey Zedek Con- gregation. MR. AND MRS. ROBERT AXELROD, who received their med- ical degrees from Wayne University Medical School last Monday. Married three years ago, they continued their studies together. Kaplan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pincus Kaplan of 3796 Tuxedo, studied for the rabbinate at Yeshiva College in New York. Previous to that he was a stu- dent at the College of the City of Detroit, now Wayne University. He is a graduate accountant. His radio feature is presented under the title "The Yeshiva Bochur" on station - WEVD, New York, the largest Jewish station in the 'U. S.
