of Planning Committee; Recommendations to Be
Submitted to JWF Board
Inspired by the concern of the late Hy C. Broder ,for the
social, cultural and recreational needs of Jewish youth in
Detroit, the extension planning committee of the Jewish
Community Center is making an over-all fact-finding survey
of the community.
Appointed by Samuel H. Rubiner, president of the board
of directors, the committee is
headed by Robert J. Newman,
board member and chairman of
the Center's health education di-
vision. Other members of the
committee include: Emil T. Stern,
Leon Wayburn; Mesdames Sam-
uel S. Aaron, Sidney J. Allen,

More Units Needed
The committee is guided by the
general feeling in the community
that extension Center buildings
are needed, in addition to the
12th St., Dexter and Six Mile
units.
Information is being assembled
for the committee by sub-com-
mittees, findings to be submitted
to the board of directors of the
Center. The complete information
will be presented by the board
to the Jewish Welfare Federation.
The needs of the 12th Street
Extension, embodied in the 12th

formulated by Mrs. Leonard H.
