Outlining Drive Proves
Highly Successful
Detroit's labor Zionists, upon concluding the annual

Gewerkshaften drive at the festival last Sunday evening
at Cass High School, immediately began a political campaign
to enlist the support of this community in behalf of the
labor candidates to the World Zionist Congress scheduled
to open in Jerusalem on Aug. 13.

A highly successful "demon-
stration tea," presented as a
working model for leaders in the
General Solicitation section of the
Women's Division of the 1946 Al-
lied Jewish Campaign, was held
at the home of Mrs. Julian Krolik
on Tuesday, March 18.
Area chairmen, supervisors and
secretaries of General Solicita-
tions were entertained and the
group of women present an-
nounced pledges toward this
year's emergency drive.
The pledges were given follow-
ing a demonstration appeal by
Mrs. Alexander Sanders, vice-
chairman of the Women's Divi-
sion in charge of education. The
. - esponse was considered gratify-
ing by those present who consti-
tute the leadership of the women
who will conduct the general soli-
citation during the drive.
Programs Described
Mrs. Samuel S. Aaron presided
at the meeting and Mrs. Max
Frank presented to the women
the aims of this year's campaign,
described the programs of the
three constituent agencies of the
United Jewish Appeal.
Members of the speakers com-
mittee of the Women's Division
who will attend a tea at the home
of Mrs. Henry Meyers, chairman,
this Friday, will have a practical
demonstration of how to address
a group of women at one of the
teas planned for the campaign.
Tell Campaign Story
Mrs. Lewis B. Daniels co-chair-
man of the committee, assisted
by Mrs. Meyers, will receive- the
guests. Mrs. Sanders will tell the
story of the local campaign and
will outline the best methods for
presenting tfie emergency cam-
paign needs in a talk for group
solicitation. Mrs. Frank will as-
sist Mrs. Sanders.
