to almost 600 in 1946.

is a community institution, and is directed by a representative Board
rabbis and laymen drawn from all congregations in the city.

grades, which combines religious and secular studies (enrollment approxi-

supplements Public School education (enrollment 2/3 of total).

$50,000 must be raised during the year from members
and patrons, memorial contributions, synagogue and
organizational gifts to supplement income from tui-
tion fees and the $11,000 grant from the Jewish

Welfare Federation for the current year.

former students are attending higher schools of Jewish learning.

Yeshivath Beth Yehudah

spends 77 cents of every dollar for actual teaching costs (balance for
maintenance and administration) and the average cost of instruction per
student per year is $180.

Yeshivath Beth Yehudah

has a budget of $100,000 of which 40% is met by parents' fees. This is a
record achievement among all such schools.

erected. There is an immediate and crying need for
new classrooms to meet the growing demand for new
admissions. The lot adjacent to the present home has
been purchased and paid for' by: the Ladies of Yeshi-
vath Beth Yehudah and architects' plans are already
drawn for two-story building. Our children deserve
the best and we must provide spacious classrooms
for hundreds of students now overcrowding our

quarters.
