MRS. SARAH AGREE, 63, of
2655 Tuxedo, died March 1.
Funeral services were held Sun-
day at Chesed shel Emes.
Founder of the Pliskow Family
Association, she is survived by
her husband, six daughters, Mrs.
Paul Camiener, Mrs. Jack Flusty,
Mrs. Neil MacDougall, Mrs. Ben
Kronmel, Miss Minnette Agree,
all of Detroit, and Mrs. Jack Gold
of Hollywood, Calif.; three sons,
Louis Garfield, of Lorain, Ohio.;
Max Garfield, who recently re-
turned from overseas with the
Canadian Army, and Allan G.
Agree; two sisters, Mrs. Abra-
ham Camiener, of Detroit; Mrs.
Ely Mottow of Boston; a brother,
Meyer Pliskow, of Halifax, Nova
Scotia, and 11 grandchildren.

American Jewish Committee,
one-time American Jewish Con-
gress leader; succeeded the late
Justice Irving Lehman to his ju-
dicial post.
Gov. Thomas E. Dewey of New
York was started upon his gang-
busting career by Mr. Medalie
who had suggested his name for
appointment by Gov. Herbert
Lehman as special prosecutor.
Dewey's fame began at that time
and he has often been referred
to as the Medalie-made leader.

Detroit Music Guild
Offers Third Concert

The Detroit Music Guild con-
tinues its successful tenth season
with the third concert in its sub-
scription series, to be held in the
Lecture Hall of the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts next Wednesday.
The concert will feature the
solo clarinet of Marius Fossen-
kemper of the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra who makes his first
appearance at a Guild concert.
With him on this program will
be Evelyn Gurvitch, Detroit
pianist, and Emily Mutter Adams
and Jacob Becker, both of the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Celeste Cole will sing a group
of Richard Strauss songs.
Other numbers on the program
will include the Brahms Clarinet
Sonata Opus 120 No. 1 in F mi-
nor; the Suite for Violin, Clarinet
and Piano by Darius Milhaud
and the first performance in De-
troit of the new Shostakovitch
Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello.
A few seats will be available
for those who are not subscribers
to the Guild series.

Purim Event March 16

The Junior Congregation of
Shaarey Zedek invites its mem-
bers and all high school students
to its Purim festival on Saturday
evening, March 16, in the social
hall of the synagogue. There
