JWB Issues Book on
AU Phases of Purim

Purim, celebrating the down-
fall of Haman, an early anti;
Semite, conveys a message of
faith and courage to Jewry in
modern times. To offer assist-
ance in the planning of com-
munity and club programs for
its observance, the National Jew-
ish Welfare Board (JWB) is dis-
tributing an 80 page manual
dealing with all phases of the
holiday.
A modern story of anti-•emit-
ic persecutions, and of courage-
ous friends who tried to save
their Jewish countrymen, is told
in the radio script, "Badge of
Courage," the tale of the Nazi
occupation of Denmark.
Listed in the book are mater-
ials available from other. sources,
giving additional information and
guidance for Purim celebrations.
The program service has been
distributed to USO-JWB work-
ers, Jewish Community Centers
and JWB field secretaries. Addi-
tional copies are available from
the national office of JWB, 145
E. 32nd St., New York 16, N. Y.,
at 50 cents each.
