May 19 Is Set as

ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Warner have left for a visit in New
York City and will be guests at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
A shower was given Feb. 27 by Miss Pearl King, at her home,
in honor of the forthcoming marriage of Miss Esther Cohen to
Rabbi Jacob Davidson of New York City. The candle light dinner
was followed by instrumental and vocal music.
Mrs. Ben Goldstick has returned from Philadelphia, where she
attended the graduation of her son, Mark, from Temple University
Dental school. Dr. Goldstick, a Wayne university graduate, re-
ceived the Dr. Gustav Tassman award. He is a member of the
John Kolmer honorary medical society and was chapter secretary
of Alpha Omega fraternity. He will resume his studies in the
East, specializing in orthodontics.
Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Ginsberg of 9503 McQuade will be at
home Sunday in honor of their son, Sgt. Saul Ginsberg, who was
recently discharged after serving overseas. No cards.

Miss Lillian E. Grunt has returned to Ann Arbor to complete
her senior year at the University of Michigan, after spending a
week's vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. Grunt.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sweet of Northlawn Ave. have returned from
Florida.
Mrs. A. H. Grant (Elaine Albert) and daughter, Rose Deborah,
have returned to Columbus, Ga., to join Capt. Grant who is stationed
at the Regional Hospital, Fort Benning. Mrs. Harriet Krohner (Fay
Grunt) and son, Martin Paul, flew back with Mrs. Grant to spend a
few weeks at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Mitchell of 18948 Wisconsin have left on a
motor trip 'to Los Angeles, Calif., where they will visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Fields (Thelma Mitchell) and their twin daughters,
Arduth and Sheila.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Rudnick of 3345 Glynn Ct. celebrated
their 25th wedding anniversary on Feb. 27 with family and friends
in Ottawa, Ontario. Upon their return to Detroit on March 3 they
were honored by their children, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. - Klasky and
Lillian Rudnick, at a surprise open house at their residence.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith of 18634 San Juan will have open
house Sunday, March 17, 2 to 5 p. m., in honor of the return of
their son, Sgt. Alybert Smith, who served with the U. S. Army for
the past 38 months, having seen service in the European and Pacific
theaters of war. He has just received his discharge.
Mrs. David Kallman and daughter, Rita, of Canterbury Drive
have returned from a week's stay at the Edgewater Beach Hotel,
Chicago.
Mrs. Rose Rubenstein will present a number of students in a
recital on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Rubenstein Piano
Studios. There will also be a demonstration in ear-training and
theory held in weekly classes.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Feinberg of Lawton Ave. have returned
from a few weeks' vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Krause (Lora Ann Weinberg) are
temporarily residing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Weinberg
of Warrington Drive. Mr. Krause recently was discharged from
the army air forces.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kahn of 19313 Santa Barbara will hold
open house Sunday, from 2 p. m., in honor of their son, Murray M.
Kahn, who is on terminal leave from the U. S. army after four
years of service. No cards. Capt. Kahn served for two years in
the Pacific area and his latest station was Tokyo where he was
depot operations officer.

Farband Camp Planning
Program for Summer

The camp committee and staff
of Farband Camp and Kinder-
welt is making plans for' the
summer. New camp equipment
is being ordered, additions are
being made to the staff. Members
of the staff who have not as yet
filed their applications are urged
to do so immediately. Others in-

The Farband Camp reunion

Congress Establishes
Information Office

NEW YORK (JTA)—The es-
tablishment of the Office of Jew-
ish Information as "a public
service to the American commun-
ity" has been announced by Dr.
David Petegorsky, executive di-
rector of the American Jewish
Congress, The information serv-
ice will issue a twice-monthly
pamphlet series on Jewish affairs,
a monthly wall newspaper, a
weekly clipsheet and mat serv-
ice, documentary films, film-strips
and radio transcriptions. •

Relief Program of JDC
To Continue in Germany

President Truman's designa-
tion of 11 national relief agen-
cies as the Cbuncil of Relief
Agencies Licensed for Operation
in Germany (CRALOG) applies
only to the specific agencies in-
cluded in the list and interested
in relief for German civilians
and, will not affect the exten-
sive relief and rehabilitation pro-
gram carried on for Jewish sur-
vivors and displaced persons in
Germany by the Joint Distribu-
tion Committee, it was empha-
sized in a statement by Dr.
Joseph C. Hyman, executive vice-
chairman of the JDC.
More than 65 JDC welfare
workers are stationed in Ger-
many and Austria carrying out
the agency's activities there, Dr.
Hyman noted.

sah, Senior and Young Judea,
Young Men's Zionist Organiza-
tion, and Aviva group of Miz-
rachi.
Officers of the Detroit Zionist

Youth Council has organized a
speakers bureau, composed of
