ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kaichen of Huntington Woods- and Mr.
and Mrs. Louis B. Heavenrich of Mendota Ave. have left to join
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Heavenrich, for a week's stay
in Coronada Beach, Calif.
Mrs. David Epston of. Longwood Ave. is spending a few weeks
in New York City.
Mrs. Douglas I. Brown and her daughter, Mary, of Lucerne Dr.
left on Thursday to spend a few days in New York City where they
will be joined by Mrs. Brown's daughter, Sally, who is a student
at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.
Complimenting his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Levey, who were married on Jan. 20, Abraham Sriffman of -1260
W. Boston Blvd. will have open house Sunday, from 3 to 9 p.
Miss Ruth Hershman has returned to New York City after
a few days visit with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. A. M. Hershman
of Calvert Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Winkelman and their son Henry of Fair-
field Ave. returned from a few weeks stay in Palm Beach, Fla.
Maj. Daniel E. Cohn who is on terminal leave after 40 months
service, including 11 months in the African, Middle East Theater,
has returned from Miami Beach where he spent a few weeks with
Mrs. Cohn and their three daughters. Until his family returns from
the south, Maj. Cohn, who plans to resume his practice in about
two months, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Frank of 18309
Woodingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Garon and their daughter, Gita, of Stoepel
Ave. are spending a month in . California.
Mrs. Louis Rosenthal and her daughter, Miss Marjory Rosen-
thal, of the Belcrest Hotel have left for Miami Beach where they
will be guests at the Carribean Hotel.
Lt. (sg) Maxwell M. Hoffman, who is on terminal leave from
the U. S. Navy after four years service, including service in the
Pacific area, is at home with his parents, Mr. and. Mrs. William
Hoffman of LaSalle Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Ginn of Birchcrest Dr. have returned
from a month's stay in Palm Beach, Fla., and Havana, Cuba.
Maj. Herman Kanter, who is at home with Mrs. Kanter and
their daughters, Jennie and Marsha, at their home on W. Outer
Dr., after being in service for 39 months, has resumed his practice
at 13127 W. 7 Mile Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Feinberg of Boston Blvd. had as their
guests last week-end Joseph Hirsh and his son of Chicago.
Lt. (jg) Cornell Janeway, who has recently returned froth
the South Pacific area, is spending a 30-day leave with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Janeway of Canterbury Rd. His sister, Joyce,
who is attending Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N. Y., is planning
to come home next week to spend a few days with her brother.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Schaefer of Rochester Ave. are spending
a few weeks in Hollywood, Fla.
S/Sgt. Marvin Shogan, who has been in service 38 months, in-
cluding 23 months in the China-Burma-India area, has received
his discharge and with Mrs. Shogan is for the present making his
home with his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Shogan of Roselawn
Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Michelson of Warrington Rd. are
spending a few weeks in Miami Beach, Fla.
Louis Brodie has returned to his home in Richmond, Va., after
a few days visit with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Crohn of Wildemere Ave.
Warrant Officer Louis Lusky, who has been in service for
31/2 years, has received his discharge and left Detroit by plane for
his home in Houston, Tex.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gunsberg of Elmhurst Ave. have returned
from a short visit in Chicago.
Maj. Dennis D. Kovan, who is at home with his family at
3246 Lawrence, after 49 months service, including more than a
year in the S. W. Pacific area, is resuming his practice at his old
office in the Professional Bldg.
Miss Margery Kanter of Atkinson Ave. has returned from an
extended stay in Los Angeles, Calif. Her mother, Mrs. Jerome
Kanter, who joined her last month, accompanied her home.
