10,500 Surviving Greek Jews paid tribute to the
American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, one of the
three United Jewish Appeal agencies whose $100,000,000

toric Washington, D. C., conference of national leaders
Sunday, marking start of the $100,000,000 United Jewish
Appeal, largest peacetime humanitarian drive in history.

KASLE and MORREY KARBAL. They conferred with
Bernard M. Baruch, adviser to Presidents; UNRRA Direc-
tor Gen. Herbert H. Lehman; and former Secretary of
the Treasury Morgenthau, on relief and reconstruction
plan for refugees, overseas needs and Palestine. A gift of
$1,000,000 was announced by the family of the late Julius

Rosenwald.
