Marriages

Lt. A. Arnold Agree is at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Agree of the Lee Plaza Apt., after being in service for 32
months.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph N. Dorfman of Fullerton Ave. have as their
guest Miss Shirley Joyce Shapero of Louisville, Ky.

Lt. (sg) Howard A. Winkelman has received his discharge after
31/2 years in the USNR and with Mrs. Winkelman are making their
home for the present with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis H.
Landsberg of Roselawn Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. George Friedman of Fairfield Ave. have returned
from a few weeks' stay in Havana, Cuba.

Lt. Colonel Leo Katzman has returned home after 5 1/z years
service, including three years in the Pacific area, and is at home
with Mrs. Katzman at their home, 3200 Boston Blvd. Mrs. Katz-
man's son, Pfc, Bruce Koploy, who has received his discharge after
32 months service, including 16 months in the ETO is at home with
them. Her son, Lt. (jg) Lester Koploy, has received his discharge•
after five years service in the Navy and is residing with his wife at
53 Marston Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Levett of 4758 Sturtevant will be at
home from 7 to 11 p. m. on Saturday in honor of their son, Sgt.
Leonard Levett, who was recently discharged from the U. S. Army
after three years' service.
Miss Sylvia Goldman was honored at a miscellaneous shower
by her sisters and sister-in-law, Mrs. Nathan Rubenstein, Mrs.
Harry Myers and Mrs. David A. Goldman.
Miss Bessie Sherbin of Appoline Ave. left for a few weeks'
stay in Atlanta, Ga., and Miami, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Kramer of 2724 Cortland willihonor three
returned servicemen at a dinner party for 25 persons this Saturday
night. The honorees are Lt. Harry Kramer who served five years
in the army, 14 months in Europe; Maj. Martin J. Garelick, with
the medical corps for four and a half years who has opened offices
in Dearborn; and Sgt. Sidney J. Garelick, who served three and a
half years with the army and who now is associated with the
Capitol Automotive Parts Inc. Mrs. Kramer is the sister of the
Garelicks. Mr. and Mrs. Kramer have a son, Melvin, in the navy
stationed in the Philippines. .
Lt. Col. M. H. Sugarman, on terminal leave after five years
in the U. S. Army Medical Corps, three and a half years overseas,
is attending University of Michigan doing post graduate work in
internal medicine.
Maj. Albert D. Weber, who served three and a half years with
the U. S. Army Dental Corps, is on terminal leave. He and Mrs.
Weber (Ruth Sher) at present are making their home with Mrs.
Weber's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Foreman, 3353 Calvert.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Chud of 3219 Fullerton will give a dinner
for the family at Huck's Redford Inn this Sunday afternoon in
honor of their son, Murray, who recently returned from overseas.
There will be open house from 9-12 p. rn. No cards.
S/Sgt. Henry Harris Carver, who recently returned to civilian
life after almost four years in the Army Air Corps, and his wife,
Goldie (Levinthal) are visiting with her parents on N. Martindale.
Capt. Lou Handler and Omer Stringer, camp manager, are at
Camp Tamakwa, Algonquin Park, Ont., to supervise construction
and improvements at the camp for the coming season.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Abram of Burlingame Ave., accompanied
by their daughter, Gloria, and son, Robert, have been vacationing
in Miami Beach, Fla., for the last month.
Mrs. S. K. Slobin of Hotel Seward, has returned from a week's
stay in Columbus, 0., where she attended the wedding of her
nephew, Capt. Howard Greenberg, to Miss Ann Gumble, Feb. 9,
in the Hall of Mirrors of the Deshler-Mallick hotel.
Mrs. Sidney R. Solomon of Picadilly Road, who is now at the
home of her parents in Miami, will be joined by her husband this
week. They plan on spending some time in Nassau, Bahamas, dur-
ing the first part of March.
Mrs. Ben Lutz, her daughter, Janice, and son, Richard, have
moved into their new home at 1632 Hampton Rd., Tucson, Ariz.
Mr. Lutz will join his family in a few weeks. Prior to her de-
parture Mrs. Lutz was entertained by her sister, Mrs. Sam Rosen-
berg, and by Mesdames George Simons, Harry Lutz, Joe Freedman,
Milton Golden, Dave Tyner, Norman Ross and Sam Katkin.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Rachmiel, who have just moved into their
new home at 3218 Webb, will have open house Sunday, from 6
to 10 p. m. in honor of the discharge from the Marines of their
son, Pfc. Julius Rachmiel, and as a housewarming party. No cards.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Kahn of 2961 Gladstone will hold open
house from 2:00 to 8:00 p. m. this Sunday for their sons Hy Kahn
of New York City and Bernie Besman. Both have been recently
discharged from the air corps. Bernie returned from Korea where
he served with the 11th Special Service Command. They have
been in service three and one-half years. No cards.

Purim Operetta of
Folkshule March 17

The administrative committee
of the Farband Camp and Kin-
derwelt at Chelsea, Mich., has de-
cided to offer scholarships of 10
weeks' free stays at the camp to
children who distinguish them-
selves in their studies in the Far-
band Folkshule.
On Sunday, March 17, pupils of
the Farband school will stage a
Purim festival and will present
an operetta in costumes. Other
features will mark this event in
the auditorium of Durfee School,
from 3 to 6 p. rn.
Children of the school are as-
sisting in the Gewerkshaf ten
drive.
