Neimand Leaves

Center to Accept
Post in St. Paul

•

E. Louis Neimand has resigned
as assistant director of the Jewish
'Community Center, to become
executive director of the Jewish
Educational Center of St. Paul,
Minn., Samuel H. Rubiner, pres
ident of the Center, announces.
Mr. Neimand, on the staff of
the Detroit Center since July,
1941, w,as in -charge of the -adult
education activities, the library,
art school, Yiddish Cultural pro-
gram, Senior clubs, games room
and bowling alleys. Last year he-
was responsible for coordinating
the various departments involved
in different phases of the Center
program. He was advisor of the
League of Detroit Jewish Youth
and one summer director of
Camp Habonim.
He is •married and the father
of three children, Naomi, 6; De-
borah, 3; and Jonathan, 2.
Mr. Neimand was honored with
a party on Jan. 29 by his associ-
ates of the Center staff. Among
those present were represent-
atives of the 'community at large,
other social agencies and board
members. As a token of the staff's
[esteem and best wishes, he was
presented with a brief case.
His successor, Harold Arian,
arrives shortly to take his place.

ing admittance to Palestine, but
he was stopped by Premier Pet-
er Fraser of New Zealand.

Mrs. Douglas. Brown, president
of the League, extends an invita-
tion to all women to attend this
meeting which will give them
the, opportunity to hear a message
of vital importance, and at the
same time to contribute to the
work of bolstering the lives of
Jewish survivors overseas.
