Rabbi Miller Views
Palestine Hearings
As 'Stall' by British
Addressing the Detroit Chapter
of American Jewish Congress on
Monday evening at the Lee Plaza,
Rabbi Irving Miller of New York,
chairman of the Congress' na-
tional executive committee, de-
scribed the British action—as in-
dicated at hearings of the Anglo-
American inquiry committee on
Palestine—as an attempt to "kill
time" and to drag the U. S. into
the problem.
Rabbi Miller, who testified be-
fore the committee, said that the
Jewish case received a good hear-
ing and that it has been proven
that the only solution to the prob-
lem of the refugees is Palestine.
Mrs. Morris Mendelson, in com-
ments on local community rela-
tions, expressed the hope that the
Jewish Community Council with
whiCh the Congress is affiliated
would become more democratic,
that it would meet once a month
instead of quarterly and that it
would refrain V from rejecting .for
membership Jewish organizations
which are considered too radical.
