note . .. There's another Gersh-
win in our midst . . . His name is
Al Waterstone and he writes ro-
mantic ballads that would make
even Sinatra swoon . . . Before
going into service, Al wrote the
rhythms for a complete show at
the University of Michigan .. .
Charlie Barnett, the bandmaster,
was so impressed with one tune,
he played it during an appear-
ance at Hillel . . . The band
broke up shortly after, hoWever,
and Al received his greetings
from the president . .. He's back
in the swing now, and the melo-
dies are again surging through
his soul . . . with added fervor.
