He studied at the Uni- versities of Breslau, Berlin, Wuertzberg and Heidelberg, and received his Ph.D. in Philosophy with summa cum laude award. • At the age of 25, Dr. Nuss- 14aum was called to Berlin to serve as Rabbi of the Great Jew- ish Congregation of Berlin where he stayed from 1934 to 1940.
