Jewish Congress Starts Drive for New Members Detroit Section of American Jewish Congress, of which Mor- ris Lieberman is president, has launched a membership cam- paign. Ernespie Children's 'Aid Mailing Packages For European Jews A successful food and clothing shower was held by Ernespie Childrens' Aid at the home of Mrs. James Brindze, secretary. For the past three years this organization has been mailing food and clothing to destitute Jews of Europe. Many letters from some of these people ex- press their gratitude. Returning servicemen h a v e been contacting Ernespie Chil- drens' Aid, giving them addresses of individual families and beg- ging that food and clothing be mailed immediately. Marion Apple Krone, express- ing sorrow over the death of their s o n and brother, Lt. Al- bert B. Apple, 22, an AAF Transport Corn- Lt. Apple mand pilot, who was killed in a plane crash over Stuttgart, Germany, Nov. 4. Lt. Apple enlisted early in 1942 and was sent overseas in Decem- ber 1943.
