Kindle the taper like the
steadfast star

ANUKAH, Feast of the Maccabees, once again
is an occasion for mobilization of Jewish forces
in the fight for liberty and justice. It is a time
for battle against poverty, for re-dedication to
the ideal of making the unfortunate children of Europe as
happy as the Jewish boys and girls of America. Hanukah
challenges us to utilize the strength of America's youth,
as symbolized in the joy of the child above, to wipe out
the horrors experienced by the children in the displaced
persons camps. On Hanukah. of 5706 we are called
upon to renew the fight against tyranny and oppression
and to demand adherence,,to sacred pledges by those com-
mitted to the building of the Jewish National Home in
Palestine. The battle for justice is in progress! The mod-
em Maccabees must triumph in the interest of justice!
