Weizmann Ass'aits Bevin;
Has Faith in Zion Future

Tells Zionist Convention . Bevin's Statement Is Another
Repudiation of Balfour Declaration; Another Partition
Scheme Revealed; Tel. Aviv Jews Penalized for Damages

(Special Wire to The Jewish News)

ATLANTIC CITY ,(JTA)—Dr. Chaim Weizmann, ad-
dressing the convention of the Zionist Organization of Amer-
ica, bitterly attacked British Foreign Secretary Bevin and
took special issue with his assertion that "Jews want to get
too much at head of queue." Dr. Weizmann termed Bevin's
statement as another document repudiating the Balfour

Declaration and said that Pales-€
tine will be built by the Jews
despite all obstacles.
Dr. Weizmann thanked Presi-
dent Truman for requesting ad-
mission of 100,000 Jews to Pal-
estine and appealed to America
for aid to help Jews develop in
. Palestine their own absorptive
capacity from which the whole
Middle East will benefit.
Concerning Anglo - American
enquiry commission, Dr. •eiz-
mann said that this commission
must also take into account the
frightful position of Jews in
Oriental countries as testified by
,,g vents in Tripolitania and Egypt.
die pointed out that Zionism
strives not merely to save indi-
viduals but to safeguard the sur-
vival of the Jewish people. He
stressed that the Palestine Jew-
ish community is the pride and
strength of the Jewish people,
• and at the same time called for
restraint and self-discipline, em-
. phasizing that violence is the
antithesis_ of Jewish morality.
