Max Loewenstein Enters
Poultry Business Here

Max Loewenstein, well known
in the meat packing industry in
Detroit, has entered the poultry
business. with the purchase of the
L. Loewenstein Co., 14 B
_road-
way Market, Detroit's oldest
poultry dealer.
Loewenstein has been active
in many, civic clubs and in Jew-
ish community affairs. In his
former meat packing connection,
he served as chairman of the
Meat Packers Group of the Food
Industry Committee and was a-
member of the executive board
of that committee. He was rep-
resentative of the meat packers
in the War Manpower Commis-
sion, and is a past president of
the Michigan Institute of Meat
Packers and Sausage Manufac-
turers.
With his • purchase of the L.
Loewenstein poultry business, he
has installed new methods for
expeditious handling of poultry
in large quantities, and has add-
ed new nationally famous brands
of fresh and eviscerated fresh-
frozen poultry.
Under his management, Loe-
wenstein's will specialize in quan-
tity orders for poultry for holi-
day gift giving, at their Broad-
