Ellmann' Promoted
To Tech Sergeant

AAF Hqs., Middle Pacific—
William M. Ellmann of Highland
Park, Mich., has been promoted
to Technical Sergeant at AAF
headquarters, Hickam Field, T.H.
set. Ellmann, a veteran of the
strategic air forces aerial assault
against the, Japanese, arrived
overseas in December, 1944.
Prior to his entry into the ser-
vice in September, 1942, he was
a student at the University of
Michigan. He is. the son of Mr.
and Mrs. James I. Ellmann, 55
Connecticut, , Highland Park. A
brother, Richard, is in the Navy
stationed in Washington, D. C.,
after a year in. the European
theater.

Winokur Post to Assist
Families of Needy Vets

Lt. Jack Winokur Post 268 of
Jewish War Veterans announces
a party, "A Nite_ at the Latin
Quarter', at Latin' Quarter,, for
Dec. 3. _

Proceeds to be raised are to' be
used for the rehabilitation fund
for helping needy_ war veterans
and their families.

The public at large is invited.
Tickets can be secured by calling
Jewish War Veterans headquar-
ters on Twelfth St.

members were hosts to 25 hospi-
talized war veterans from Percy
Jones Hospital at. Battle : Creek.
The Post arranged. for trans-
portation of these veterans from
Battle Creek to Ann Arbor where

Bonin Bros. Celebrate
35th Year in Business

Borth Brothers Coal and Ice
Co., with more than 300 em-
ployes in its payroll, recently
celebrated its 35th anniversary
with a dinner-dance in the main
-ballroom of the - Statler Hotel.
• Founded by Nathan Bonin, its
president since t h e brothers
opened their small yard On Mack
near St. AuFbin in 1910, the firm's
main offices are now located at
1635 Westminster.
Jacob Bonn is secretary-treas-
urer and Max Bonin is vice-pre-
sident.
The company has seen more
than 40 of its ernployes9eave for
service since the outbreak of the
war, and many already have re-
turned. Among them is Leonard
BorM, .son of Jacob Bonin, He
saw four years of service and
recently returned with 127 points.

Women's Club Activities

SELFHELP, Detroit chapter,
had a gathering for 200 members
and guests Oct 20 at the Jewish
Center. Ernest J. Gans delivered
a brief address. Mrs.. Margaret
Zimrrit played piano selections.
Morgan Barstowe spoke for the
War Chest. Rabbi Manfred Swan-
sensky of Madison, Wis., spoke
on the subject, "The War Is
Over—The Fight Begins."

INFANTS SERVICE GROUP
has decided to postpone the hay-
ride for paid-up members from
Nov. 19 to Nov. 26. It will be
held at Magnolia Stables.

O.E.S. met Nov. 5 in the Chap-
ter Room. Plans include the
Thanksgiving dinner dance,
Tuesday, Nov.. 27, at the Latin
