imately $40,000 to the Ida Hib-
bard Fund for the Rehabilitation
Program in which Purity Chap-

JWB-USO Programs
Jewish organizations are re-
sponding to the call of the USO-
JWB and Detroit Army and
Navy Committee for participa-
tion in programs for servicemen.
However, more groups are
needed to sponsor the Sunday
morning brunches in the USO-
JWB lounge at the Jewish
Center; the Downtown USO on
Mondays, designated JWB days
there; the Wednesday night fes-
tivities at the Belcrest Hotel,
space for which is provided by
the Great Lakes Club.

USO-JWB Food Program Com-
mittee, stresses the urgent needs
of the servicemen stationed in

Archie Davidson, of Chicago,
field representative for the Bnai
Brith Anti-Defamation League,
will address a joint meeting of
the East Side Lodge and the East

A member of Bnai Brith .for -
20 years, Davidson has an ex-
tensive background in Jewish
activities. He formerly was field
repre§entative for district 3 and
held many important posts in
Pennsylvania.
He was chairman of the Anti-
Defamation League Council,
chairman of the Governor's Safe-
ty Council, Boy Scout Council,
and was on the board of directors
of the -Associated Charities, co-
founder of the Mental Health
Clinic of Lebanon County, Pa.,
chairman of the Underprivileged
Children's Committee, of the
Kiwanis Club.
He also served as regional di-
rector for the Zionist Organiza-
tion of America on the Pacific
Coast, and also field aide for the
United Jewish Appeal.

With Grove in Zion
Habonim, labor Zionist youth
group, has started a drive for the
planting of trees in Palestine
through the Jewish National
Fund.
It is planned to plant a grove
of 500 trees in memory of David
Ginsburg and Joseph Rosenberg
who were killed in action.
All Zionist groups are invited
to participate in this drive to in-
scribe the names of these valiant
fighters in the annals of activi-
ties for Palestine's redemption.

memory of European Jews who
fell victims under Hitlerism will
be held at the Biiai David Syna-
gogue at 10:30 a. m. this Sunday.
The services, arranged by the
local Federation of Polish Jews,
of which Morris Mohr is presi-
dent, will be under the chair-
manship of Rabbi J. S. Sperka.
All local organizations and con-
gregations, including the Council
