Youth Education League
Holds Luncheon Monday

Youth Education League will
hold its annual paid-up member-
ship luncheon on Monday after-
noon, at 18295 Parkside, with
Mrs. Sidney Kalt, hostess, being
assisted by Mesdames J. Aftel,
D. Ross, R. Conn, L. Levin, S.
Schwartz, J. Sallan, H. Edelson.
Mrs. Ben Tobin and Mrs. IVIor,
ris Cohen are co-chairmen of
the charity project, proceeds to
be used for European rehabilita-
tion.
The October board meeting
was held at the hothe of Mrs.
Eli Gross, 1478 Glynn Court, with
Mrs. James V. Browne as co-
hostess. Plans were made for the
year's activities.

Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Schwartz of 3728 Sturtevant entertained

at a family dinner Saturday evening in honor of the graduation

from University of Michigan of their twin daughters, Arlene and
Selma.
Miss Marvel Gale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben B. Gale of
Calvert Ave., has begun her studies at the University of Michigan
and is residing at Stockwell Hall, Ann Arbor.
Capt. Max G. Aiken, who has been with the Army Dental
Corps for two and a half years, including a year in the Pacific
Theater, has been honorably discharged and is at home with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Aiken of Blaine Ave,
Miss Nancy Schiller, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Schiller
-of 1951 Chicago Blvd., has left for Ann Arbor where she will re-
sume her studies at the University of Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Keywell of 18324 Fairfield Ave. will
- hold open house for relatives and friends, on Sunday, Nov. 11,
-from 5 to 9 p. m., in honor of their son, Jerome, who has recently
been discharged after four years service in the AAF. No cards.
Dr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Levin of Canterbury Rd. left on Tuesday
•by plane for a month's visit in Mexico.
Mrs. Samuel Soss of Hamilton Rd. has returned from a visit
In New York City.
Lt. and Mrs. Charles Rothchild Jr., who are for the present
snaking their home with his parents in Fort Wayne, Ind., are
spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Solomon of
Burlingame Ave. Lt. Rothchild is on Terminal leave from the
U. S. Army.
Pvt. Donald J. Hartman has received hisdischarge from the
_AAF and is at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hart-
man of Shrewsbury Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Oppenheim of Whitmore Rd. are spend-
ing the weekend in Cleveland where they will attend the Notre
Dame-Navy football game. -
Mrs. S. L. Kushner has returned to her home in Philadelphia
following a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ger-
son of the Belcrest Hotel.
Lt. (sg) Irving B. Gerson, who has received his discharge from
the USNR after 3 1/2 years service, and with Mrs. Gerson is making
- his home at the Belcrest Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence J. Michelson of Warrington Rd. and
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey H. Goldman of Canterbury Rd. spent the last
weekend in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Cohen of Cambridge Rd. were hosts to a
• group of friends at a dinner at the Book-Cadillac Hotel last Satur-
day evening.

Lt. Comdr. Ben Friedman, USNR, who is on Terminal leave,
left for New York City following a visit with Samuel Epstein of
- the Belcrest Hotel.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Sherman of Calvert Ave. are spending a
- few months in Los Angeles where they attended the wedding of
their son, Bernard, at the Ambassador Hotel on Oct. 21.
SK 3/c Richard Hartman, who is stationed at Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla., is spending a short leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Hartman of Chicago Blvd.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Glazer of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Glazer of Tyler Ave. held open house on Wednesday evening,
Oct. 24 at the latter's home in honor of Miss Annabelle Myers and
their brother, Arthur Glazer, whose marriage took place Sunday.
Miss Anna Oxenhandler of Hazelwood Ave. has left for an ex-
tended visit in California.

Sgt. Donald Schiller, who has been recently awarded the Bronze
Medal for heroic achievement in France, is spending a 15-day fur-
lough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schiller of Woodingham
Pr. before erturning to his post. at Camp Chaffee, Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Schiller of Glynn Ct. have as their guests,
Sgt. and Mrs. Sidney Kross of Kansas City, Mo. Sgt. KrOss is on
a 45-day furlough, having recently returned from 2 1/2 years in
Alaska.

Aaron Klein of Boston Blvd. and his children, Miss Julia Klein
and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Klein, have returned from Cleveland
where they atended the 25th wedding anniversary of his brother
and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Klein.
Among those who attended the Mid-eastern meeting of the
National Council of Jewish Women . in Youngstown this week were
Mrs. Joseph Welt, Mrs. H. V. Kreger, Mrs. Herbert M. Smith, Mrs.
William H. Frank, Mrs. Harry Singer and Mrs. Douglas I. Brown.
Lt. Louis H. Vehon who recently has returned from a year's
service with. the Marine Air Force in the Pacific will leave on
Sunday for Cherry Point, N. C., folowing a 45-day leave spent with
his mother, Mrs. Joseph Vehon of Byron. Ave. His brother, Sgt. S.
E. Vehon, who has been in service for 21/2 years, has received his
discharge and is now at home with his mother.
.Dr. and Mrs. Albert A. Krohn of Cambridge Rd. have returned
from 10 days in New York City where they were guests at the
Waldorf Hotel.

PHM 1/c Harold Dumbrower recently has received his discharge
after 37 months service in the U. S. Navy, including 18 months in
the Pacific, and with Mrs. Dumbrower is making his home for the
present with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dumbrower of Roch-
ester Ave.

Miss Ruth Hellner was entertained at a bridge shower by
Mrs. Nathan Nagler of 2741 Monterey, prior to her marriage to
Saul Zogot on Oct. 21.
Mrs. Walter H. Plaut (Hadassah Yanich) of Duluth, Minn., is
visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Yanich of 2319 Leslie.
Her brother, Pfc. Joseph I. Yanich, is home on a 45-day furlough,
having returned from service in the European theater.
S/Sgt. Sam Roska has returned home after 42 - months' service
overseas. He is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H.' Rose of N.
Martindale Ave. until his departure for California.
Mrs. William A. Stearns of Chicago Blvd. left for Los Angeles
for a few weeks' visit with members of her family.
Miss Penny Elbinger will leave by plane on Nov. 2 to spend
her vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.
Miss Paula Tyner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Tyner
of Warrington Drive, has left to resume her studies at the UM-
versity of Michigan and „will reside at Stockwell Hall, Ann Arbor.

quarters attended a meeting at
the home of Dr. J. M. Goldsmith,
master of the Cuh Pack, spon-
sored by the Men's Club of Tern-
ple Israel.
Mr. Citrin, president of the
club, and Maurice Levin, Scout-
master of the Boy Scout Troop,
were in attendance. Arrange-
ments were made for a series of
three meetings to be held at
Hampton School for parents .of
boys, 9 to 12, who are interested
in Cub work.

William Kadushin of Kentucky
Ave., and Norman W. Feder, son
of thr. and Mrs. Leo Feder, on
Oct. 14, at the Bnai Moshe, be-
fore an altar banked with palms
and decorated with flowers and
candelabra.
The bride was lovely in a
candlelight satin gown, with a
yoke of illusion detailed with
seed pearls. ' Her veil fell from
a tiara of heirloom rose pointe
lace. She carried a Bible adorn-
ed with orchids.
Miss Helen Selesnick was maid
of honor. The bridesmaids were
Miss Helen Sloan, Elsie Pinchuck,
Bertha Slutsky, Sara Kadushin
and Betty Shaffer. Leo Barson
was best man. Al Kadushin,
Sheldon Selesnick, Ernest Burke,
Norton Rosen and James Kane
were ushers. Anita Harvith was
flower girl and Harvey Lasser
was ring bearer.
The bride's grandmothers,
Mrs. Rachel Slutsky and Mrs.
Anna Kadushin, were in the bri-
dal procession.

Lt. (jg) Richard Waldbott who recently has returned from the
Pacific area is stationed in Seattle, Wash. He is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Emil Waldbott of Burlingame Ave.
A s/2 Gottesman, USNR, who has been attending Western Michi-
gan College is spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Gottesman of Cortland Ave., before leaving for South
Bend, Ind., where he will attend Notre Dame.

Pfc. Symond Gotlieb who served 18 months in the Pacific
with the 11th Division Paratroopers, is spending a 30-day convales-
cent leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Gottlieb of Roch-
ester Ave. before leaving on Nov. 9 for Vaughn General Hospital.
S/Sgt. Leon M. Shulman, who recently has returned from 28
months in the China-Burma-India Theater, is spending a 30-day
furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shulman of Webb
Ave.,. before leaving for Sheppard Field, Tex., where he will receive
his dischai:ge.
