Harry Cohen, chairman of the
Balfour Ball committee of the
Zionist Organization of Detroit,
has issued an appeal to all De-
troit Jews to support this fund-
raising project.
The Balfour Ball will be held
at Hotel Statler on Nov. 10.
Mr. Cohen points out that this
year's event is
especially im-
portant by vir-
tue of the fact
that proceeds of
this event are
used to finance
educational act-
ivities of the or-
ganization. Mr.
Cohen stated:
"The funds de-

CHICAGO—The National Jew-
ish Welfare Board's Midwest
Section will hold its seventh an-
nual conference, Oct: 20 and 21,
at the Congress Hotel in Chicago,
it was announced by Josiah E.
Brill of Minneapolis, president
of the section.
Among those who will partici-
pate are Mary Lakoff and Ed-
ward Kahn of Detroit.
