ni
's Road Back

This tra-
gic figure
survived years in a Nazi murder camp.
He is going home, broken in health and
penniless, to find no home, no relatives, no -
friends. The American Jewish community,
by responding generously to the United
Jewish Appeal, gives him a chance to re-
build his life. In Detroit, the War Chest
provides the necessary means for reconstruc-
tion efforts through the J.D.C. and U.P.A.

Shoes at Last!

The United Jewish
Appeal is extend-
ing new hope to the 650,000 Jewish survivors in
Bulgaria and other Balkan countries who are re-
ceiving - through the J.D.C. large- quantities of food
and clothing, including shoes.

Conquer Nature

In peace and
freedom these
former refugees from Hitler-ridden Europe (right)
are .working to conquer nature and make the soil
of the Jewish Homeland in Palestine bring forth its
fruit. Their new birth of freedom is made possible
with funds of the U.P.A. provided by the War Chest.

(right) return to their
homes to find their homes reduced
to rubble. Without home, family or
funds, their only hope for survival
