For the first time since Pearl
Harbor, the Michigan State Fed-
eration of Temple Sisterhoods is
.planning to hold its regular an-
nual meetings.
Mrs. Henry Meyers, general
state chairman of the convention,
announces that the first post-war
convention will be held Tuesday,
Oct. 2, at the Book Cadillac Hotel.
Mrs. Manuel Brown of Grand
Rapids, president of the Mich-
igan State Federation of Temple
Sisterhoods, has been in office
since 1943 when an election was
held by the board because the
Office of Defense Transportation
asked that no convention be held.
Exchange Experiences
The morning session on Oct. 2
will be devoted to an exchange
of war time Sisterhood experi-
ences and election of officers.
Mrs. Brown will be chairman.
The second session will be held
from 1 to 3 p. in. There will be
on "The Death of Yesterday and
the Birth of Tomorrow."

Mich. The wedding will take

The engagement of Miss Ber-
nice Weintraub to Pfc. Nathan
Brodsky, • son of Mr. and Mrs.
Louis Brodsky, is announced by
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Weintraub of Sturtevant Ave. At
present, Miss Weintraub is at-
tending Wayne University and is
a senior in the College of Edu-
cation. She is affiliated with
Iota Alpha Pi, national Jewish
sorority. Pfc. Brodsky recently
returned from overseas where
he was a German prisoner for
12 months. He is now stationed
at Camp -Lee, Virginia. Prior
to his induction he also attended
Wayne University.

Announcement of the engage-
ment of Miss Dolores Nathan,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy F.
Nathan of Monica Ave., to Sgt.
Arthur D. Disner, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Disner of Roselawn
Ave., was made at a reception
at the birde-elect's residence. Sgt.
Disner has left for his station at
Fort McPherson, Georgia. He has
been in active service three years,
is a graduate of Northern High
and a former Wayne student.
Mrs. Adler to Address
Wayne Avukah, Tuesday

Wayne University Chapter of
Avukah will open its fall season
with a membership meeting next
Tuesday, at 9 p. m. at the Cam-
pus House, Second and Putnam.
Mrs. Morris Adler will be the
guest speaker and the Avukah
Choral group will sing several
songs. Refreshments will be
served and there will be dancing.
All Jewish students are invit-
ed to this affair. Ethel Levine,
president of the group, announ-
ces plans for cultural and so-
cial 4 activities.
The membership chairman,
Gladys Herman, has arranged
novel get acquainted parties.
Adeline Subar, vice-president
of the Wayne Chapter, was re-
cently elected a member of the
Central Executive Committee of
national Avukah and was ap-
pointed chairman of the national
organization's Jewish National
Fund.

their daughter, Paula Faye, to
Capt. Norman Kolin, USAAF, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kolin. Miss
Tyner attended the University of
Michigan. Capt. Kolin was/
graduated from Parks Aerinauti-
cal Institute of Missouri. He has
recently returned from active
duty as a bomber pilot in the
European Theater of Operations.
The couple have set their wed-
ding date for Oct. 23.
