enter baseball this season is

Jacobs and Boxing
Mike Jacobs really had him-
self a boxing year. Running
self
shows at the Garden and St.
Nicholas Arena, Michael did
right well at the gate, never
having a bad night. Now he
talks of running two shows a
week at the Garden, on Friday
and Monday nights.
In golf, Herman Barron con-
tinues as the only big Jewish
pro.
Track had little to offer in the
line of Jewish sensations. De-
troit's Allan Tolmich, the great

sprinter, is in the Army and had
little chance to participate in
meets.
All in all, it wasn't a great
year for Jewish athletes. The
coming year should be a better
one, particularly with the Jap-
anese knocked off.
