This poem, dedicated to his two
brothers, both of whom are in the

That house over yonder
Makes me sit and ponder—
Two boys there, have gone away,
To fight in war
For their country and more,
To make those oppressors pay.
And so their children may
Grow up in a way
That, all people want and adore.
And so, they fight
freedom, that's right—
To have and to hold mainly
four.
First, freedom from fear-

We've learned to want more than

Institute to Be Erected Here
As the first step in making
Detroit a world center for teach-
ing and research in the field of
industrial health, articles of in-

stitute for Occupational Health
Research will be filed in Lansing
next month, it is announced :by
Wendell W. Anderson, president
of the Medical Science Center of
Wayne University.
The Institute will be staffed
with specialists in the medical
and engineering phases of em-
ploye health, and will maintain
ample research laboratories
which will be at the service of
industry in Wayne 'County and
elsewhere.
Subject to approval by the
Board of Education, the Institute
will be affiliated with and hous-
ed with Wayneniversity's new
School of OccMoational Health,
whose program is entirely financ-
ed by the Medical Science Cen-.
ter. Dr. Raymond Hussey, dean
of the School, will serve as Di-
rector of the Institute.
The sum of $750,000 is now be-
ing raised by the Medical Sci-
ence Center to finance the joint
program of 'the School and the
Institute for the first five years,
Mr. Anderson said. He added
that a substantial part of the
$750,000 has already been pledg-
ed. Mahufacturing and business
firms of Wayne County are be-
ing asked to subscribe this mon-
ey, which will be administered
by the- Institute's own Board of
Trustees composed of leaders in
industry.
The affiliated School and In-
stitute will be both a service
unit for industry and an educa-
tional institution. The School
will educate, on a post-graduate
level, graduate doctors and en-.
gineers who wish to specialize in
the field of occupational health.
In addition, courses will be avail-
able to industrial physicians and
hygiene engineers. Later the
School will arrange special
courses for the training- of tech-
nicians.
Dr. Raymond Hussey, who will
be dean of the School and Di-
rector of the Institute, is now
canvassing the country for out-
standing medical and engineer-
ing personnel in the field of in-
dustrial health. These will com-
prise the faculty of the School
and staff of the Institute.
