A New Year dawns, a year of promise and of pledge;

A year .that greets all Israel with renascent hopes

For surcease of all the sorrows he had endured

Throughout the ages;

A

Past replete with tragedies

At which the pen staggers and pales in writing.

A new year dawns: may it be a year of Peace,

A year of Restoration and Fulfillment

Of the age-old prophecy that proclaims:

"Blow with the great horn for our Liberation,

.Blow ye the great horn of triumph

For our exiled dwellers on far distant shores,

And announce that they shall be restored again

As a free people to their ancestral domain.

Blow the trumpet, raise the banner high!'
