Y., where she will resume her studies at Vassar College. Joyce Janeway, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Janeway of Canterbury Rd., left on Wednesday to matriculate at the same school. Mr. and Mrs. Max J. Weinberg of Warrington Rd. and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Alpern of Mt. Clemens are motoring through the New England States. Mrs. Peter Fliess of Washington, D. C., is spending 10 days as the guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Capt. and Mrs. John B. Ho ► itz of Oakman Blvd. Susan Klein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Klein of Chicago Blvd., is spending a few weeks in Lorain, 0., as the guest Of her father's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Klein, and their son, Warren. Her parents and her brother, Thomas, will join her for the Labor Day week-end. Mr. and Mrs. George R.. Lieber of Lawrence Ave. have re- turned from New York City where -they visited with relatives and friends. Mrs. Paul Fogelman and her sons of Pennington Dr. have re- turned from a few weeks' stay in Charlevoix. Mrs. Fred Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd. has returned from Chicago where she visited her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ruskin. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Spevakow and their children, Marvin, Joan and Marcia, of Hazelwood Ave., have returned from a fort- night in South Haven, Mich., and Chicago. Mrs. Lawrence Kert and her children, Sheldon, Lenore and Leslie, have returned to their home in Toronto after spending the summer with Mrs. Kert's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Meretzky of Windsor. Mr. Kert, who joined his family for the last week of their stay, returned with theni. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roberts of West Seven Mile Rd., have returned from New York City where they visited with Mrs. Roberts' family. James Ginn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Ginn of Birchcrest Dr., and John Alexander, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Alexander of Calvert Ave., are spending a few weeks in New York City and Washington, D. C., visiting with relatives and friends. A group of women representing Mt. Sinai Hospital Association served at the USO on Aug. 26 in behalf of the Jewish Welfare Board hospitality program and personally furnished the food. Included in this group were Mesdames David Applebaum, M. Benaderet, S. Brand, Charles Gitlin, Louis Goldfine, Jacob Harvith; Max Har- wood, Isadore Harris, Daniel Rachmiel and Harry Singer. Miss Rena Cohen has returned from a month's vacation at White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where she visited with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. H. Sobel of St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Eva Cohen also visited with the Sobels at the lake for two weeks. Pfc. Alfred Landau is spending a 30-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Landau of Webb Ave. Pfc. Landau re- turned from the ETO where he spent 13 months with the Signal Corps of the 6th Armored Division, and fought in three major campaigns. He will report to Camp Grant, Illinois, for reassign- ment after his furlough. Annual Balfour Ball on Nov. 10 .. Harry Cohen, chairman of the Balfour Ball sponsored annual- ly by the Zionist Organization of Detroit, announces that the event this year will be held on Satur- day night, Nov. 10, at Hotel Statler. Miss Ruth Wiener, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Wiener, was married to Dr. Joseph Cabot, son of Mrs. Ethel Cabot and the late Ben Cabot. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was radiant in a gown of white sum- mer satin with a deep yoke of net bordered with princess lace. Her veil was fingertip and she. carried a colonial bouquet of white orchids. She was attended by Mrs. S. Wiener and Mrs. R. Levin as bridesmaids and Miss Constance Rubenstein was maid of honor. Mrs. Weiner, mother of the bride, was attired in grey blue crepe and wore orchids. Mrs. Cabot, the bridegroom's mother wore sea green crepe and wore orchids. Dr. and Mrs. Cabot left for a trip North.
