Albert CohenNamedDirector Bar Mitzvahs
Of Jewish Vocational Service

announced the appointment of
Albert 'Cohen as. executive di-
rector of the agency.
Mr. Cohen has been a member
of the staff of the Jewish Voca-
tional. Service since 1942. As the
agency's first group worker, he
became well known to the 'com-
munity. In addition to his group
activities, he has had extensive
experience in individual coun-
seling, and has served as the
agency's liaison Worker with the
'Jewish Social Service Bureau,
'Jewish CominunitY Center and
North End Clinic, and 'as its coun-
selor ,for veterans.
Cogpe.ration With Hillel
Since 1944, Mr. Cohen has also
been in charge -of the Michigan
Group Vocational Guidance . Pro-
gram of the 'Baal Brith, which
functions outside of metropoli-
tan' Detroit on a week-end basis.
In this capacity, he organized
and developed vocational guid-
ance activities for youth and
adult groups in a number- of out-
state Michigan cities, and at the
Hillel Foundations of the Univer-
sity of Michigan and Michigan
. State College. Because of the
scope of his new duties as Ex-
ecutive Director of the Jewish
Vocational Service, Mr. Cohen
has resigned from the out-state
vocational guidance work.
Mr. Cohen received both his
Bachelor's and Master's degrees
from the University of Pennsy-
lvania. After a number of years
of administrative business exper-
ience, he joined the staff of the
Allied Jewish Appeal in Philadel-
phia, where he served as a cam-
paign secretary until he joined
the staff of the Jewish Vocation-
al Service of Detroit. He is auth-
or of a number of publications

on vocational guidance, has play-
td a leading role in the voca-
tional section of the National
Conference of Jewish Social Wel-
fare, and has been guest lectur-
