Congregation Bnai David, Elm-
hurst at 14th St.; announces that
tickets of admission to the High
Holy Day .Services will be avail-
able -beginning Sunday, Aug. 12,
at 2 p. m. The seat distribution
committee will be in the • vesti-
bule each weekday evening and
Sunday afternoons from that date
on.
Members are asked to redeem
their tickets as soon as possible.
Non-members desiring . to wor-
ship in the synagogue are re-
quested to buy their tickets early.
The congregation will conduct
special youth services in the
chapel on• Rosh Hashanah and
Yam Kippur, with special tickets
available for these services.
Tickets- are free to children of
members and children- of not-
members can purchase them • for
$2 per ticket.

Synagogue Project

Beth Aaron Synagogue • and
Hebrew School, of the northwest
section, is speeding completion
of the building for the High Holy
Days.

High Holiday Service's
At 3 UHS Synagogues

High Holiday Services will be
held in the three synagogues
connected with - the United
Hebrew Schools—the Rose Sittig
Cohen at Tyler and Lawton, the
David W. Simons at Tuxedo and
Holmur, and the Philadelphia-
Byron School.
The auditoriums have been
redecorated and cantors engaged.
The synagogue committee con-
sists . of Nathan Yaffa, chairman,
, Morris Fishman and tsaad\Rosen-
thal, co-chairmen.

A Jew's Kindness
Makes Streicher Cry;
Admits He's Wrong

LUXEMBURG (JPS)—Julius
Streicher, Nazidom's number one
Jewbaiter, now interned here
with another top Nazi awaiting
trial as war criminals, declares
that 4e has come to the con-
clusion that there are "good
Jews" and that Jews should be
allowed • to live unmolested.
Streicher told • the following
story to Se. Robert Bock, of
Wisconsin, assistant in the lia-
ison office here:
"An American came into my
room with a pitcher of cocoa
and some crackers. He set
them down on a little table
and stepped back and said,
`this is from me to you, Mr.
Streicher—I am a Jew.' I
broke down and cried. That
was the most severe punish-
ment I have ever received. I
am wrong. I have always
said there were no good Jews,
but that boy proved to me
that I was wrong."

American Women to Care
For Liberated Oprhans
Announcement was - made by
the Mizrachi Women's Organi-
zation of Anierica, that a group
of ,60 child refugees who were
liberated by Americans from con-
centration camps iri, Europe, had
arrived in Palestine to be taken
care of by the Mizrachi Women..
Among the children are a num-
ber who had been hidden from
the Nazis by sympathetic French
in French monasteries.

Picnic This Sunday

Palestine Davar Hits
Dr. Goldmann's Plea

Dr. Nahum Goldminn's state-
ment, syndicated by the Jewish
World News, that the British
Government should be given
time to overcome internal dif-
ficulties before pressing her for
a decision on Zionist demands,
was attacked by Davar, Pales-
tine Labor daily. It is reported
that the Jewish World News, a
press syndicate, is • maintained
by the World Jewish Congress.

UHS Will Re-Open
New Term Aug. 15

The United Hebrew Schools
will re-open- on WednesdaY,
Aug. 15.
S essions will be • held in the
morning, with the first session at
9:30 a. m., the second at 11 a. m.,
and so on.
This schedule will be con-
tinued until after Labor Day,
when sessions will be held after
public school hours.
At the beginning of a new
semester, registrations are now
held for children of all ages, for
beginners as well as advanced
students. Parents are asked to
contact the schools immediately.

10,000 Jews Alive
Out of 234,000,
AMG Discloses

FRANKFORT-ON-MAIN (JPS)
—Out - of 234,000 Jews from
France, Belgium, Holland and
Norway, deported by the Nazis-
to death damps and for slave
labor, only 10,000 have , been
found, and "though a few addi-
tional Jews may be uncovered
in hospitals and other places in
Germany, the difference between
the two sets of figures represents
approximately the number of
dead."
These ' figures were disclosed
in a report compiled by the
American Military Government
and released by- the combined
Displaced Persons executive corn- .
mittee, of the U. S. Forces.
The . 234,000 Jews - are • included
in 400;000 political and racial de-
portees from the four occupied
countries of Western Europe.
The Displaced Persons Execu-
tive Committee released the fol-
lowing breakdown Of deportees:
Jews deptrted from Belgium,
28,000, repatriated, 1,289; deport-
ed from France, 105,000, repatri-
ated, 2,000 to 4,000; deported
from the Netherlands 110,000, re-
patriated, 5,000; deported from
Norway, 734, repatriated, 12.
