The refugees f r om
Carpatho-Russia, (above, left) 'recently re-
leased from a concentration camp in Jugo-
slavia, by Tito partisans, are now free • men
in Palestine. Funds provided to the United
JeWish Appeal by the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign of Detroit, through the War Chest,
has made this humanitarian effort possible.

Relaxing in London :

Clothing and food
supplies are being rushed to Jewish refugees
from Canada by the United Jewish Refugee
and War Relief Agencies. This overseas re-
lief project is closely integrated with the
refugee assistance program of the American
Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, an
agency of the United Jewish Appeal.

T h e refu-
gee ship (left, center) sailed into Haifa Har-
bor, flying the blue and white flag with the
legend "From Slavery to Freedom." Since
the beginning of the war, 85,000 refugees
have been rescued and resettled in Pales-
tine, with the aid of the United Palestine
Appeal, a United Jewish Appeal Agency.
