Sy Neuman, recently returned from the European Theater of war, spent a 10-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Neuman of Calvert Ave., and his wife, the former Sarah Bobroff. Sgt. Neuman is on his way to the South Pacific. Pfc. William Greenwald, 11750 N. Martindale, is home with his wife and 17-month-old son, Allan, on a 30-day furlough. He has just returned from Germany after 20 months. Lt. William J. Poplack, marauder pilot who was shot down over Germany and held prisoner of War until liberated by the Canadians, arrived at Miles Standish Hospital near Boston, on June 22. His wife, Eleanor Wolf Poplack, left to be with her husband until he is discharged from the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. George Weiss are having open house for their friends and relatives on Sunday, July 15, at their summer home on Lake Shore Drive, Ont., in honor of their son, Pfc. Jerome Weiss, who will celebrate his 21st birthday. He is home on a 30-day fur- lough after serving 11 months in Europe with the Third and Ninth Armies as a medical aid man. He also participated in the 95th Div- ision's capture of Metz, Saarlautern, Hamm and Dortmund. S/Sgt. Hannan R. Kraft, accompanied by his wife, has re- turned to Camp Hood, Tex., after spending a two-week furlough at home. Mrs. Kraft, the former Joyce Pensler, is a student at Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton, Tex., where the couple reside. During the summer she will attend the University of Texas at Austin. S/Sgt. Kraft is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kraft of 3816 Sturtevant. Mr. and Mrs. J. Feldman of 3251 Calvert held open house on Sunday, July 8, in honor of the Pideon Haben of their grandson, Gary Bonin, whose father, Leonard Bonin, has just returned from overseas. Pvt. Leo Papp, who is stationed at Camp Van Dorn, Miss., is here on a furlough visiting Mr. Louis James Rosenberg of Calvert Ave. Before entering the army, Pvt. Ruth Bruson Edelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bruson of Grand Ave., has left for New York where she will be a student at the summer session of Teachers' College of Columbia University. Mrs. , Edelson has again been awarded a Federal Scholarship in nursing arts education and will be on leave of absence from her position as nursing arts instructor at Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. Bogrow is home on a 30-day furlough after eight months as a bombardier on a B-17 based in Italy. A veteran of 65 missions over Germany, he holds the Air Medal with three clusters and the Presidential Citation with two clusters. Emigrate to Colonies, Dutch Jews Advised BRUSSELS, (JTA)—The sur- viving Jews in the Netherlands are being advised to emigrate to Dutch colonies "since there are no prospects for them in Hol- land.",,The "advice" is given to them in an anonymous pamphlet' published in Holland. "The Dutch Government," the author points out, "cannot over- come the complex difficulties in- herent in the Jewish problem, which is being aggravated by the growth of anti-Semitism."
