June 27, in honor of the graduation of their son, George, from

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cooper of 2460 Gladstone Ave. will hold
open house on Sunday, June 24, in honor of the graduation of their
daughter, Helen Cooper Miller, from Wayne University College of
Pharmacy. Mrs. Miller, who received high honors, will be the fifth
registered pharmacist in the immediate Cooper family.

stalled as president
of the
Ladies' Auxiliary of the Jewish
National Fund by William
Hordes, president of the JNF
Council of Detroit, at impres-
sive ceremonies on Tuesday
afternoon, at the Rose Sittig
Cohen Bldg.

Mrs. Shevin, who succeeds
Mrs. Philip J. Cutler, in her ac-
ceptance speech called for in-
creased efforts for the Jewish
National Fund during the corn-
ing year.

An address on the importance
of land-redemption in Palestine
was delivered by Mrs. Morris
Adler.

The retiring hostesses served
as hostesses at the reception that.

John Hayman, William Hordes
and Morris Davis having charge

CHICAGO—The S/Sgt. Robert
B. Golbus Memorial Scholarship
Fund, which will provide two
annual scholarships for achieve-
ment in good citizenship to uni-
versity students without regard
to race, creed or color, has been
established by Mr. and Mrs. Alex-
ander Golbus of Chicago in me-
mory of their son, through the
Bnai Brith Hillel Foundations.
The Golbus Memorial Scholar-
ship Fund will make available
two scholarships of $400 each to
students at Northwestern Uni-
versity or at such other univer-
sity as the fund's trustees may
designate.
Mr. and Mrs. Golbus set up
the fund by turning over the
$10,000 insurance policy carried
by S/Sgt. Golbus, and are add-
ing to it by contributions of their
own and by gifts from friends
of the Golbus family.

MOSCOW, (JTA)—The Polish
provisional government in War-
saw has made public the results
of its investigations of the Nazi
"extermination camp" in Chel-
mno, near Kolo, in the Poznan
district, revealing that at least
1,135,000 Jews froni all parts of
Europe were killed there by the
Germans between 1940 when the
camp was established and 1945
when the Red Army liberated
the territory where the camp
was situated.
They were taken to the recep-
tion center, forced to undress and
then driven with whips into her-
metically sealed trucks equipped
to pump gas fumes into the van.
The victims were driven three
kilometers to a near-by wood,
their l ■ ,dies removed and buried
in shallow graves. From Dec. 10
on, fresh groups were brought
to Chelmno every day. Some days
these groups numbered 2,000"
