now numbers 2,520 physicians of
whom 2,247 are Jews, 188 Chris-
tians and 88 Moslems. Women
comprise 21 percent of the total.
According to a report submitted
to a conference of the Palestine
Jewish Medical Association here,
there were only . 30 Jewish phy-
sicians in Palestine during the
first World War. The Jewish
population then was around 50,-
000. The present Jewish Com-
munity numbers 600,000.
