Expand Summer Program
At Center's Camp Habonim

F/O Marvin Levinthal was home recently on a 10-day leave be-
fore reporting to his new post at Lincoln Neb. His sister, Mrs. Henry
H. Carver, arrived from Orlando, Fla., where Sgt. Carver is
stationed, for the family reunion. They were the guests of their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. Levinthal, 9325 N. Martindale Ave.
Lt. Marvin Abramovitz, Thunderbold pilot who has completed
60 overseas missions, is on a 30-day leave with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry M. Abramovitz, 3258 Tyler. A former Wayne
student, Lt. Abramovitz was a member of the squadron which
dropped supplies to surrounded allied forces at St. Lo. He holds
the Air Medal with two silver clusters.
Mrs. Howard Winkelman of Chicago is spending a few weeks
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Landsberg of Roselawn Ave.,
before joining her husband, Lt. (j.g.) Winkelman, USNR, who has
been transferred to Boulder, Colo., where he is studying Japanese
at the University of Colorado.
- Mrs. George Lipkin and her daughters, Elyse and Adriane, who
have been residing at Harlinger, Tex., where Major Lipkin is sta-
tioned, are visiting Mrs. Lipkins' parents, Mr. and Mrs. David M.
Bidder of Chicago Blvd.
Lt. (j.g.) Edward Taub, who has recently returned from 18
months service in the Pacific, is spending a 30-day leave with Mrs.
Taub and his son and daughter in their home on Webb Ave.
Capt. Aubrey Goldman, who has been stationed at the Blood
Bank in this City since his return from overseas duty, left on
Monday for his new assignment at Camp Blandin, Fla. While in
Detroit he made his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Ceasar of Chicago Blvd.

Mrs. Lakoff Announces Schedule of Activities for Day
Camp to Include Special Period for Older Children;
Take Reservations Now for Opening on June 25

A full program of activities for
children this summer is announc-
ed by Mrs. Charles Lakoff, chair-
man of the junior activities com-
mittee of the Jewish Community
Center. The program will center
about Camp Habonim and will
include a special section from 1
to 5 p. m.

Camp Habonim will open on
Monday, June 25, for a period of
eight weeks.

The camp will be under the
direction of Reuben Young, dir-
ector of health education in the
Center junior program in charge
of gymnasium and swimming,
who has become popular with
hundreds of children. In 1944 he
was head counsellor of Camp
Habonim and director of the 3-6
recreation program. He is a teach-
er in the Detroit Public School
System.
