Nathan Kolb, corresponding sec-
retary.
Elected to the board for three
years are: Mrs. Arthur J. Hass,
Mrs. Nathan Kolb; for one year,
Mrs. David Levy.
Mrs. Jacob A. Citrin, chairman

the annual Memorial Day ser-
vices at Clover Hill Park Ceme-
tery at 2 p. m. next Wednesday.
Dr. A. M. Hershman, Rabbi of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek with
which Clover Hill Park Cemetery
is affiliated, will read from the
Scriptures, will give the conclud-
ing prayer and will conduct the
respective reading.
The liturigical songs, the Na-
tional Anthem and the Kaddish
will be sung by the Shaarey
Zedek Choir under the direction
of Cantor J. H. Sonenklar. The
choir includes Max Teitel, Arthur
Scheer, Joseph Cantor and Man-
fred Kuttner.
Rosenwald Post of the Ameri-
can Legion will have charge of
the Advance of Colors. A state-

Memorial Rites at
Oakview, May 30

Marker to Be Unveiled Over
Grave of Lt. R. S. Deutsch;
Scouts to Participate

Congregation Bnai Moshe will
conduct memorial rites at Oak-
view Cemetery, Royal Oak,
Wednesday, May 30, in coopera-
tion with the Julius Rosenwald
Post American Legion. Partici-
pating also will be the Bnai
Moshe Boy Scout Troop 23.
The patriotic exercises will
begin at 12 noon on the grounds
adjoining the grave of Lt. Robert
S. Deutsch, U.S.N.R. During the
services • a marker will be un-
veiled and a wreath placed on
the grave.
Harry Rosman, president of
the congregation, requests all
members to join in tribute to the
nation's war dead.
Because of the parade in Royal
Oak and congestion at the main
cemetery gate, Bnai Moshe
members are advised to continue
on Woodward to 12 Mile, turn
right on 12 Mile to Rochester
road, right on Rochester Road
to the cemetery and enter
through the Rochester road gate.

Greet New Citizens

At Belle Isle Sunday

The date of the celebra-
tion to welcome new citizens has
been set for 2:30 p. m. this Sun-
day, May 27, at the bandstand
on Belle Isle, when the fifth
annual "I Am An American"
Day festivities will be held.
Three hundred boys and girls
from the city's recreation centers
will present "Youth Salutes
America", a spectacle of dances
and songs. Donald Staes, 11, and
Carlene Sobie, 9, have been set=
ected to be -greeted personally
by Uncle Sam on the platform,
representing the thousands of
new Americans.
Judge John J. Watts of the
traffic division of Recorders
Court will give the welcoming
address. Miss Dawn Watson will
be mistress of ceremonies. Music
will be furnished by the Boys
Victory Band.

Ask Christian Prayers
For Martyred Jews

NEW YORK, (RNS) — The
American Church Palestine Corn-
mittee and the Christian Council
on Palestine have issued a call
for Christian prayers in behalf
of martyred Jewry during Me-
morial Sunday services on May

From Nazi Camp

Word from the war department
and a cable arrived almost simul-
taneously this week telling of
the liberation of Lt. Robert L.
Brasch, bombardier with the
Ninth Air Force, formerly based
in England, from the Moosburg
prisoner of war camp near
Munich.
Lt..Brasch,
whose plane was
shot down just
about a year
ago over Berlin,
on his 29th mis-
sion, after which
he was to have
received a pro-
motion, cabled
his wife, t h e
former Sonia
Lt. Brasch Hersh, 3375 Ful-
lerton, "In hospital. Slightly ill.
Home soon."
The war department telegram,
sent to Lt. Brasch's brother, A.
R. Brasch, the night before Mrs.
Brasch received the cable, said
that Lt. Brasch was "back in
military control".
Lt. Brasch was a prisoner in
Stalag 111, northeast of Berlin,
until several months ago but was
moved south by the Nazis just
before the Russians overran that
territory.
The rescued officer. has a
brother, Jerome, a sergeant, who
is serving in France.
Lt. Brasch is the winner of the
DFC and other awards.

TEL AVIV, (JTA)—The Pales-
tine Communist Party regrets its

past policy of opposing Jewish
immigration and condoning Arab
disturbances, and now supports
unrestricted immigration and the
establishment of a Jewish na-
tional home, Meir Slonim, a
leader of the party, recently
told a conference of the "Com-
munist Education Association."

Committee Denies Jews
In Austrian Cabinet

NEW YORK—On the occasion
of the formation of a govern-
ment in liberated Austria it has
been publicly maintained that
Cabinet includes several
Jews.
In view of this report the
Austrian Jewish Representative
Committee, which is affiliated
with the World Jewish Congress
and whose members are familiar
with the Austrian scene, points
out that among the new Aust-
rian ministers there is not a
Single Jew.

Max, Szaja Greenberg
of Poland Sought Here

Word has reached us that Max
Grinberg (Greenberg or Grien-
berg) between 40-45 years old,
born in Poland and emigrated to
the U. S. before 1940, and Szaja
Grinberg (Greenberg or Grien-
berg) 60, who emigrated to the
U. S. 30 years ago, are being
sought by Bela Moneta, their
niece, daughter of Lea (Lajcie)
married to the tailor Moneta who
is now living in Paris, France.
